She played for Team United, where I coached her from 4th grade until her Junior year. She did play with JBS the summer on 2021 since Team United did not travel. Her and Dymonique Maxie played together for six years.wow! that's big news. Where did she play club ball??
were there basketball offers but she decided to just go the academic route? This is a win for the whole Bay Area. This teaches little girls all over the Bay that hard work, dedication and being coachable goes a long way to accomplishing their dreams. Laura comes from amazing parents that only produce successful kids. That family can write a book on how to raise great kids. Seeing Lauren on Stanford will give me goosebumps every single time over the next 4-5 years.
She walked on, Coach Vanderveer invited Lauren to practice with team and after a week or so offered her a spot.I just reread statement. Earned a spot as in like a preferred walk on or scholarship?
Well said, could not agree any more. What this does for girls that are not on coaches radars, but have big dreams is incredible. This is a win for the whole Bay Area. There were a couple small school offers. However, Lauren who had graduated with a 4.5GPA had her pick of high academic colleges. Matter of fact, she was in the middle of an east coast college tour when she found out she had been accepted to her dream school, Stanford. Both her parents graduated there and her older brother is an incoming junior there as well, so it was a no brainer when she got accepted.were there basketball offers but she decided to just go the academic route?

Getting accepted didn't mean basketball was over, she had her eyes set on making the team. Lucky for her, she had great communication with the coaching staff for years. Lauren asked to be allowed to practice with the team and well, now she is on the roster.
