Yes she will, however she lands at Brookside that will put them in position to win states!!

This is funny. Just when you think you've seen it all, we get posts about ok 8th grade players.

Really nice kid, decent skillset seen in training, but in games havent seen any of that translate against good competition, and she is slow afoot for her smaller size as a guard. But that's nothing, the major Problem with her is her Dad, who is probably this Mr.phenomenal guy!

Definitely a piece of work. He alone has made it hard for her to play in Sacramento which is where shes from. Dude used to go around with his camcorder at basketball games showing off video of her to whoever would watch, bragging recklessly and speaking bad about other players her age, loud enough for the players to hear. See he is back at it again, now on NorCal Preps as Mr. phenomenal. TOO FUNNY!

The same dude who insists of running her at point guard on every team or else, and when they didn't run her at point guard because she wasn't skilled enough hed take her and split.

Real interesting story from a few years back about him her and Oregon with Norcal Elite, her not running at point guard, and he taking his kid and splitting leaving the team hanging with barely enough players to continue tournament because he was pissed that she wasn't at point. TRUE STORY!! Take note wherever she goes, this is what youre getting.

No one cares where she's going, she hasn't even set foot on a high school campus. You never heard anything about Acosta, Kakala, Moore when they were heading to high school, and we don't hear about the more talented 2020s like Amaya Oliver, Samaya Beatty, Nicole Gee and others from Maile's area, but we hear about her as #4 2020 in the country, isn't even top 10 in Sacramento for 2020.

And all this hype and rumors of SMS or Brookside for jocking her, all coming from Mr. phenomenal. Still begging for attention pops...what a joke. What happens when the play doesn't come close to the hype? I guess we shall see come November. As if anyone will care then.

RespectBBGame,

I understand Sierra Smith was one of the two who left SMS. Who was the other player and where did she go? Anyone who knows the answer can respond.

Thanks,

Someone already answer that but the question is why did the leave a team that supposed to be the best? Smith was a 2 year starter!!!!!! The other help a team go 30-2 the year before transferring out..... What's going on is the???????

Razi Potter is back at Kimball, though she probably won't be eligible this year.

1. My name is Zachary and I am a softball coach (check the image).
2. Mjknows916 a typical failure of an athlete with a non-factual opinion adult HATING on a child and her father. Sad! Today's America typical parent of an athlete!

He didn't really hate on the girl, but definitely had a strong opinion about the dad. Sometimes there are dads like that, and sometimes people make stuff up ...

Along that line, what is harder for a young player to deal with? High expectations at a young age, or a critique that may or may not be completely accurate?

My sense would be that it might be easier on a girl to have someone criticize her a little too harshly, even if unjustified, than it would be to have someone say she's great, even if she is.

Players will always go through constructive criticism on this site, I will give a great example, Tudor wasn't know as dribble drove or 3 point specialist year 2015. She went Omar for EliteHoops now she can beat people off the dribble now that brought up her stock. Constructive criticism is a good thing in many ways players learn their weaknesses and can work through it.

Clay with all due respect.... I kind of see it just the opposite. I see those who love to play the critic as primarily great to good player haters. They usually didn't excel as high as they wanted to like Charles Barkley not winning a championship, so they live to knock others. I know it pays, but why specialize in pointing out faults in children? I think young children (especially girls have a fickle sense of confidence) they need as much positive encouragement as possible. Confidence is what seperates teams like OKC and the Warriors. Each player on the Warriors has found a champions level of confidence. That is why their bench can come in and out perform many starting lineups. So if confidence can have a great impact on adult professional players, obviously we can't expect young kids ( girls at that) to be any different.

Telling a child they're ugly or not very talented has a far greater negative impact than it does to positively motivate them. IMO. Of course there are the very few totally driven that exceed all expectations regardless to the obstacles.

Good point ... the fine line between a reality check and a blow to the ego is easy to cross.

Boys are usually more cocky. And boys egos and swag are different than girls for the most part. So it might work as a better motivator for boys than it will most girls. Although the woman's ego has grown tremendously over the past few decades. Children in general need to be loved and encouraged IMO.

No adult should go on a public message board, behind a screen name and assert negative information about someone, especially a young girl or boy.

The dad sounds like a real crack pot but he is not the first and definitely won't be the last but he sounds special for sure.

Mr. P - you made reference to you being a softball coach and to check the image but image appears to be that of a baseball. By the way, Hunter Pence is out for the Giants.

Respect ...:)...too funny you know what the problem is...
Tom is a prima donna...but even more he thinks he is SMS... and the program would not exist if
he wasn't at 5648 N El D.... the program would still exist... in fact...somebody else might have made it even better with the talent he was given..

I like prima donnas...who think they are better than everyone else...guess it takes one to know one...
but doesn't mean there aren't other people out there who could have done even a better job than him...

Legend Out ;)

I think the biggest problem today in high school basketball with parents and coach is they hyper players that could never live up to it. Let the players make their way to the top of there class by their performance on the court. By that's just my opinion. Stop pressuring players!!!!! They will get there on their own!!!! Especially 8th grade that haven't even hit the high comp. Their is a big different in AAU defense then High School defense.

And high school coaching and AAU coaching. Not that one is better than the other just that in high school the coaches and teams have more time to teach, train and coach. It become more apparent in the playoffs. Typically teams that have the better coaches perform better in the playoffs.

Off the current topic.
The Johnson sisters who supposedly have transferred out of Antelope. They were a big part of the JBS club. Does anyone know if they are playing club ball & if so, with who.

I know tuition is due...at least first payment August 1....
Is Maile still coming to BSide

I see Dec 27 they are plaYing SHC as
Part of the WCJ challege...where are those challenge games being played?

The WCJ Challenge games will be at Heritage in Brentwood. It looks five games, all prearranged, and they will not affect bracket play, which begins Dec. 28. Everything is still tentative, as lots can happen, but we're getting there.

We haven't set the exact schedule ... still making sure everyone's in. We had a team drop out of the Challenge a couple weeks ago.

Soon, we hope ...
