With the new rules, this is honestly a great move... Gives him a chance to workout, get real feedback and make an informed decision. He had a pretty up-and-down 2 years at SDSU but was very good down the last 10-12 games of the season... Looked like a pro in the MW conference tourney. Interested to see what kind of feedback he gets because his raw talent, size, athletic ability are sure to make a better impression on NBA people than his college stats ever will...

Agree. I was never able to get an impression on him even being from the same area. But those post season games showed way to much off/def ability to ignore.

Very interesting prospect. I think the psychological stuff will be his biggest hurdle. Just a strange one to crack. Is there a drive or desire? 6"9 with guard skills is impressive to say the least. Tough one here.

Here is an interesting one... Thon Maker NBA draft eligible. Interesting loophole exploited.

I will tell you Malik Pope is the real deal. He is a hard worker, a gym rat. I have seen him I the summertime in Sacramento outside on a cement court working for hours on his game. His issue was he was injured his last year and a half in high school missed all summer and fall work his frosh season. After playing a few games and showing his skills his draft status exploded. And that's where the lack of focus began. After a humbling soph regular season, and a pretty good post season look for him to show what the chatter is all about. Good kid too.
