Going into this weekends games, Maxpreps had dropped DLS all the way to 23rd in the state rankings, one spot below St. Francis, who had beaten them the previous week. Since DLS drubbed state ranked #8 Cathedral Catholic, how far will DLS rise back in the rankings, and what do you do with St. Francis if DLS gets a big jump in the rankings?

Calpreps has a rule that if you’re undefeated, you can’t fall below a team you’ve beaten. If DLS rises, St. Francis will stay about 0.2 pts higher.

Wear loose fitting clothing, don't eat anything exotic that dances loosey goosey in your stomach, buckle that seat belt tightly and keep your hands inside...... 'cause it's going to be a jerky ride.

So if DLS beats a top 25 nationally ranked team in 2 weeks (St. Frances Academy of Baltimore), then beats state ranked #5b Folsom and goes on to run the table, they would still be behind St. Francis, assuming St. Francis won the WCAL?

Only if the Lancers remain undefeated. If they lose a game in league, but still win the league, they will drop behind the Spartans. Win out and SF could ride that wave all the way to the top 50 in the nation or higher.

DLS will come in around 14 or 15.

St. Francis will be right ahead of them.

If DLS beat St. Frances of Baltimore and then beats Folsom, I assume they would move back to #5 or #6 in California.

Why does anyone really care about the rankings right now? There are like 3 months left of games.

Think Rocklin cares if Folsom is ranked ahead of them now? No, because it doesnt mean anything and they’l get a chance to decide on the field. Same with DLS and pretty much every other team out there.

I so agree with you.

Yeah it’s fun to speculate but we are way ahead of ourselves. One week at a time. Remember these are 16-18 year old kids.. stuff happens

I still find it odd people rank Folsom ahead of SF. They don’t have a win anywhere near the caliber of SF but get more credibility why again? Message board titles maybe? They need to play somebody and schedule like a elite program to warrant this type of grandeur, they simply don’t.

Folsom is the best team in NorCal that is why they are ranked there.

A miracle win doesn't automatically get you the #1 spot, per Calpreps. Folsom is a better team and will hand DLS its 2nd or even 3rd loss of the year in a few weeks.

Folsom is #1
