Moreau Catholic 2017 PG Damari Milstead has picked up an offer from Nevada.

damari & his dad jules unofficially visited with the cal staff Thursday

both damari & st joseph notre dame's jade smith are significant point guards of interest for coach martin with respects to 2017 recruiting

Please lets be realistic, Damari Milstead is not a Pac 12 guard. I was recently at the Prep2Prep Classic and he was clearly out of his league. I'm not putting the kid down I'm just stating the obvious. Can he play college basketball? yes, but at the Pac12 level it's a stretch.

So Assist10, let's see based on your comment above, you must know more of what qualifies a kid to be a PAC12 player more than the CAL or Washington State staff? Or more than coach Shaka Smart @ Texas, or the other Major programs that have offered or have interest in him?

I can care less about what colleges have offered him!! He is simply not a high major player. Tell me one thing that dictates he's a high major player? I saw the Prep 2 Prep Classic and it was not.pretty.

Its pretty simple, as his Dad is a major player in the Soldiers organization, any team that grabs Milstead is hoping to tap into the Soldiers pipeline of talent. He's a decent player, but if you watch him play on Moreau he really benefits from the talent around him. He's a strong defender and plays very hard, but a horrendous shooter who gets a lot of points off of cherry picks. He's definitely not a PG that elevates players around him. The best thing he has going for him is the family name.

I think thats a bit harsh somebody is going to pay for this young man's college education and thats why
You put in all the hard work.I believe his game would translate well in the wcac or big sky conference
his court vision and ability to get to the rack is very good.He is also a very good defender he does need alot of work on his jumper and ablity to be more explosive going to his left but i hear he is a worker and a gym rat and let's not forget people the kid is STILL A JUNIOR plenty of time to grow and improve so the upside is there.

He's probably in the gym right now. After reading this I would be to. We are talking about a Kid who probably works his butt off to become a better player, only to have us "men" pick apart whats wrong with his game.

Whats right about his game is its garnering college offers. Paid professionals whose lives depend on recruiting "the best players" to their university have offered scholarships to this young man. He can play thats really not even the question.

He can certainly get better! But who in the 11th grade cant get better? At the end of the day its a college degree paid for by putting a ball in a basket.
