final MM 72-66. props to BOD, closed to within 1 in fourth. came out w defensive intensity in 2nd half, made MM look lame at the offensive end. also killed MM on the boards, especially on their own (BOD's) end. finally both teams were in the burning barn. had to foul down the stretch. sending Ionescu to the line is a gamble at long odds. BOD went from looking like they didn't belong to looking like they would seal the deal by 6-8 points. somehow MM pulled themselves back together in the last 3 minutes. great work by BOD coach, and hard work and heart by BOD players. and great work by MM, coach and players, for refusing to fold when things were going that way late.
I'd give the rising star award to MM frosh Clair Steele. Came off the bench to drop 17 points, including 3 very calm and collected treys.
Steele came up huge when the wheels were falling off late for Miramonte!! Some cutch shots!!

Yes Clair Steele further proved my point that age has nothing to do with whether or not your able to play the game.
I did get a chance to congratulate her dad on Clair's performance. But I was not surprised because we have played both with and against Clair and she always brings it. Kelly Sopak does a fine job with all his freshman and other young players. I think he spotted something special in Clair early on. Congratulations to them again.
