Mission erases 11 point deficit in fourth quarter plus a home book and scorer table error to beat previously unbeaten University 66-62. University main threat allowed to stay in game after committing 5th foul with 4 minutes left in game. Stayed in long enough to convert 3 point shot. University coach took advantage of situation and didn't say a thing.

Nice crowd, solid team and definite home court advantage at University (hostile, but nice); glad fire marshall not at game. Also, south rim needs to be replaced; off line due to kids dunking on it all the time.

Good win for Mission. I like their players and their coach. They really get after it.
Riordan was without Chun in their loss to University a few weeks ago. Could be a blessing in disguise as the other players are gaining valuable game experience and confidence.

It's never too early to start a discussion as to who's the best team in the City so far? My top four: SI, Mission, Stuart Hall and SHC (tied for third). Too bad that SI and Mission don't play each other in the Sand Dune Classic as that would be an interesting match-up especially at the guard positions but I'd have to give SI the edge especially with Niamey out (which I still believe is the case).

True. Niamey Harris back in line-up for last three games. I think after Sand Dunes Classic would be a good time to evaluate. Yes, Sand Dune is not doing bracket play this year. However, would give an opportunity to see Cats. Last year SI dismantled Mission in Sand Dune, although Mission only played 7 and had no answer for Emery in paint. Mission still suspect in paint. By end of 15-16 season, the young Cats were drained while Mission was going 12 deep. I would agree a more veteran SI team is potentially the team to watch for the duration of the year. Mission played a sound Los Gatos which plays and looks just like SI (strong guard play and paint presence). SHC as always, is an enigma. Will take til league to see where they are at after a less than stellar 15-16. Riordan definately young and dependent on a durable Chun to compete. University and Lick W are sound; tough at home. Have not seen Stuart Hall yet. Mission will have its last competitive games next week at Sand Dune and a game v. Stuart Hall, that is until NorCals. What sets this Mission team apart is a stifling defense with quick hands and feet. This is not a Jet Offense style team like Balboa in late 90s; they run more of a Princeton set and disciplined. Are they the most talented team in City, maybe not, but definately, the most entertaining to watch.
