Mitty Coach steps down for opportunity; Sullivan new interim Head Coach

Wow. Big news. I liked what he was doing at Mitty.

Nice for Mitty to have a guy like Danny Sullivan on staff to at least fill the bridge if not more.

Not trying to be an ass here, just honestly asking what do you think he was doing so well at Mitty? Not that he was doing a bad job, but seemed to be doing just like every other Mitty coach the last 5-6 years, winning the games they were supposed to but not getting the big one.

They did play a great game against Serra, at the same time though they barely got away with a win against a Riordan, a team they should have beaten by 2-3 scores.

Also, Mitty WR/DB Raymello Murphy is moving to SoCal to play at Santa Margarita.

This is from an outside perspective, but he seemed to be bringing stability to the program that hasn't been there since Haniger left.

Agreed. I think he is a very average coach with a knack for bamboozling people into thinking he's better than he is. I have no clue how he got the job at Mitty after what he did at Menlo-Atherton. The fact Adhir Ravipati, his JV Coach, took that job and pimped it out within a four year span to what it is today makes him look even worse. Then, MA beat the breaks off of Mitty lol.

Good luck to him but the fact that Trent Dilfer hit him up with a once in a lifetime opportunity is just comedy to me.

Coaching is a marathon journey and these guys get paid way too little(in California). I have had him referenced by guys I respect as a QB Coach for players. Never used him but I think more than Dilfer recognizes his coaching potential. Good luck to him.

I agree, coaching is a thankless job. Not just in this state but in most places. I'm not saying that as someone in the bleachers looking in either. I know that very well from first hand experience.

But that is also why I am being more critical of him than the average person. I know far too many coaches who have done more with less who have not been afforded the same opportunities. Guys who would kill for a chance like this. I've learned that coaching has a lot to do with networking and marketing and a lot of time that outweighs the actual product on the field.
