My kids told me that #exposemiity has gone viral on Twitter and the SJ Mercury picked it up. Very disturbing.

I just started reading it and holy smokes....I havent even got through most of it yet.

What's true and what's not? Who the heck knows in the Wild West Age of Social Media?

Here we go... Mitty gave me a great education. I went onto a 4 year university and earned a valuable degree. I now have a good job and contribute in many ways to society from the lessons I learned at Mitty and the education I got.

but all of a sudden it’s time to come out and complain about how poorly I was treated. Wonder how many of these kids were also on scholarship or tuition assist. Plug in any school here.

IT seems that with all of the protesting that's going on, it's empowered people to step up and have a voice where as in the past, that wasn't evident. Again, I didn't go to mitty and know very few people that went there.

There's also MeToo shaming on social media against St. Francis and Valley Christian. Both schools issued public statements addressing this.

Yesterday drew brees was the most hated American. Today it’s Mitty. In 5 hours it will be something else. Welcome to today’s world. It will be forgotten about quickly just like the saying flattening the curve.

this site needs sports back quickly or else it will become a political forum just like FB.

Pretty serious accusations on a 2020 Mitty hoopster. I hope it is not true, but should be thoroughly investigated with law enforcement. It was reported in the SJ Mercury, and dozens of accusations including current students. Los Gatos High also being mentioned. All triggered by the unfortunate George Floyd murder with kids of color coming out.

Politics and equality are two different issues, you have your right to your opinion but I know your better than these borderline comments.

or you need more hobbies other than high school boys

@Renard Monroe didn't you say earlier this year at Mitty you were treated horribly? Very interesting that all this comes to light after that.

These are not merely accusations, but there are a lot of crimes that have been committed according to the different stories told. Some of the lowlights include:

-A 2020 men's basketball player accused of sexually assaulting a freshman girl.
-The assistant Principal, being a continuous tyrant on campus
-Racial Bigotry occurring in the classroom and teachers doing nothing about it, even encouraging in some instances.
-Another basketball player from the past accused of sexual assaults
-A Teacher who befriends female students and talks to them outside of the classroom, and even after they have graduated

Now I am going to guess that not All the stories are 100% factual, but at the same time there wouldn't be this many people posting about it if it weren't a huge issue.

Personally if I were a parent of a student at Mitty, I would pull them out of school immediately after reading what I have read in the last couple of days.

Bellarmine, too. They fired an Administrator who wanted to expel a racist kid but his father was a huge donor.

This stuff is too deep and deeply rooted. I do not want to go into a bunch of details but will give you a few things to think about.
I honestly wanted the best experience for my children while attending school. Both my boys attended The San Francisco School( private) for K-8, both attended Catholic High Schools( Serra, Sacred Heart, Riordan). I was a middle school teacher at St.Emydius School( it wasn't PE). I would be lying to you if I said they didn't experience some unfair treatment during there time attending their schools but I would also be lying if I didn't also add that when those unfortunate experiences took place that the schools didn't hear our voices and address the situations properly.
In the matter of my treatment at Mitty, it bothered me a lot. I am friends with Eddie Garcia , the Police Chief of San Jose. We were actually able to have a good and productive talk with the officer that patrols the games at Mitty after the incident took place. I received an apology which is a start. My interaction with the Mitty staff that day was very unfortunate and their tone was nasty and I do not think they understand how they come off. I am not going to judge any man or charge any organization of being racist or discriminatory but Right is right and Wrong is wrong. We all make mistakes and when we make mistakes it's important to recognize it and try to not make the same mistake again. Be better... after they approached me wrongly I got upset and could have handled myself better and articulated myself in a different manner. Hopefully with all the situations that are surfacing, that it's not just dismissed, its handled properly and everyone learns from it and is better after it.

I think the second to last paragraph is important. There is a lot of information out there. And it is an important conversation to have. However, I don't think listing complaints and then saying you'd guess they aren't all 100% accurate is the right thing to do.

If it is accurate, it needs to be brought into the light. Heresay can be dangerous too though

SAINT IGNATIUS HAS HAD A HISTORY of racial hostility. A GOOD school in all but there issues are well documented over the years.. HOW can we forget about the Whigger Partys which were covered in the SF Chronicle like 4 years ago? . THEY also have had issues with different punishments for some. Unequal treatment.

SACRED HeART as well. JUST THIS PAST YEAR A WHITE student went on line [YouTube],threatening to shoot all the black students in the school. SOME of the black students were scared when After the threat this student was still at the school, even after the administration knew about the shooting threat. I guess they thought it wss a joke..

HE was later expelled freon the school after several days. BUT what if something would have happened in the meantime? What if this student carried out the threat.

THIS caused a serious series of meetings amongst black parents in the school and the schools administration. The school reacted slowly to the threat, until the SF NAACP got involved...It was on the channel 4 news. Google it...

Nothing surprises me. All schools have issues. What I look to is how the issues are addressed and handled at each school..sadly a lot of these schools have different standards for some kids. Instead of being handled equally.

Surprised nothing has been said about SI.
