MM v Campo, Round 2

The Campolindo Cougars take on league rivals the Miramonte Matadors (horrible name for a basketball team, btw... matador defense...) tonight in the reg season finale.

Miramonte has yet to win a game on league, but a number of the losses have been close and they were 9-7 in preseason. Not as bad as their record would indicate..

Meanwhile, Campo will be trying to pull out of a late-season tailspin and gain a little confidence before the NCS playoffs. This swoon has dropped them from a somewhat-likely higher seed to a probable mid-to-low spot. Just as long as they don’t thrown to the Salesian wolves in the first round, I’ll be happy the Cougs are still playing.

Yeah... After I posted that not-so awesome playoff take, I went into MaxPreps and found the Cougs ranked #2 in NCS d3. What’s more, 9-16 MM is #5. Pretty thin division!

Salesian should be favored by 20-40 in any d3 matchup (if there was a betting line). Might have been only 10 against Campo last month...

Salesian. Should win NCS div. 3 without taking a deep breath.

Even if Salesian has an off night for some reason, there is nobody in d3 good enough to take advantage...

Anyway, despite the fact a 4-day weekend starts tomorrow, Sixth-Man attendance is strong for this heated rivalry game...

BTW, Campo won their first meeting by 3.

Cougs are gonna win this... According to discussion way up at the start of this thread, it could mean a #2 seed and avoidance of Salesian til the last possible moment.

But first we gotta win two playoff games, of course.
