The superintendent of the Palo Alto Unified School District has tweeted that Santa Clara County health poobahs have decreed that competitive athletics can proceed if participants remain at least 25 feet from one another. Let's hear it for distance chess.

Whoa First time in history the Colonel may be mistaken. SC clara says athletics between schools will require 25ft of spacing-suit said that sports dont exist- he is calling out County Health for a ridiculous requirement
Correct. He's not agreeing with the declaration at all.

One thing has become very clear in the wake of Santa Clara County's latest health move: The authorities are making this stuff up on the fly; they really have no data-driven clue about what works and what doesn't when it comes to competitive athletics. It has become patently ridiculous there in the heart of Silicon Valley, the purported home of honest information and logic. Pathetic.

I wonder how the covid numbers are for the club football played in LA on the weekends. Its been 4-5 weeks and I've not heard of any out breaks.
Only sport this works for is competitive egg toss. Evidently these health officials never played a sport.
