Moreau Catholic needs two games

An MVAL school is not fielding a team this year so we are looking for two games. (Varsity Only)

1. We are waiting to hear back on a possible game on Jan. 14, but not confirmed.

2. Would like to host on Sat. Feb 4th.

Wow. Now that would be a shocker and blow to the program. Ouch.

Strictly an assumption here.. but I would have to guess lack of participation. A private school who has always had a JV team in a successful sport for the school... what does a JV coach cost now days? Couple thousand dollars for the season? They already have the gym time. I could not see this being a budget issue for BOD unless they are REALLY hurting on enrollment.

A lot of kids didn't play basketball for 2+ years because of covid. After that they probably felt they were no longer basketball players or worried they weren't good enough to play after so much time off, not recognizing most kids were in the same boat. JV teams at many schools are filled with kids that like playing and have played for their junior high team but not much other experience. Might be a couple years before there's a normal influx of that type of athlete wanting to play. Just my guess.
