Can D1 athletes lose a scholarship if they get hurt working out with a private trainer?

No they can't lose their scholarship for getting hurt training outside of the team. There are periods based on NCAA where you cant train with your coaching staff and you are expected to train with your team and team strength coaches as well as on your own.

I was training a D1 volleyball player from Penn State she had her off season Workout sheets they all get. She said she had to be careful and only do her assigned exercises. Basically it would come down to the coach asking....”well what were you doing when you got hurt?” Not some rule...correct?
