Congrats Rmbr26!

Thanks FBAddict - looks like Valley Christian & Manteca got most fans & otherwise my picks were the same a s number of other posters, just in different order.

Happened to notice at least 3 posters forgot to post a score for the Pitt-SM game and another poster listed both teams from one game leaving the 10th game out altogether [although listing both teams guarantees you at least one will win! :D

Congrats Rmbr26, I thought Pitt would give up some more points in the second half to at least make it look closer. I am just happy to have a couple good weeks, must be the new magic 8 ball.

VC losing to Wilcox is the biggest upset in NorCal this week.

Oh & Yes VC was my #10 pick - Thank you "Warrior's"...

Maybe the Wilcox win wasn't an upset at all. We won't know for several weeks when more results are in the books. It's entirely possible that Wilcox is simply better than VC. That's the danger with making predictions before teams have played a game. There isn't enough solid information. Folks in the prediction business are flying blind early in too many cases. Hey, who saw Carmel taking care of Salinas? Not a lot of folks. Again, was that really an upset or are the Padres simply better than the Cowboys?

You're correct colhenry in that almost all the fans fell into the same trap incl me - basing their pick on past history of these 2 teams playing each other. Looking at the data AFTER the game Wilcox had a pretty good season in 2017 & was returning 16 of their starters. They were also projected to win the De Anza league over teams such as Milpitas & Los Gatos. It's entirely possible as you stated that Wilcox is simply a better team, though a 4-point spread in a 1rst game could be easily reversed end of season in the playoffs.

Same with Bellarmine vs. Menlo-Atherton. There were some WCAL backers who simply could not fathom the idea of Bellarmine losing to a CCS public school even though it was obvious that M-A is loaded with talent. Bellarmine's long history of outstanding football seemed to trump better judgment and facts in a number of cases. But the WCAL's grim showing vs. CCS publics (0-3) has to be a dash of cold water reality at this point. A glance at this coming weekend's WCAL schedule indicates that the league could well lose five or six more games to non-league foes. A 4-4 log might be a real accomplishment.
