Cal over James Logan. CAL is battle tested and will win.
Pitt over DV - DV has to run right at Pitt and not try to beat them on the edges if they are to stay in this game. Pitt is way too fast.
Amador over San Leandro. Amador is just too good.
Dublin over Freedom - my upset pick and really the only game the could be an upset. Wade will put Gutwald and other starters on defense. Should be a good one.

DLS vs. Foothill in the championship....Final 35-21 DLS of course

DLS vs. Foothill in the championship....Final 35-21 DLS of course
DLS will destroy whoever they play in the finals, then they'll easily defeat the So. Cal team.

DLS is ranked #3 in the state, so I'd guess the winner of the top two, the anticipated Centennial v. Mater Dei matchup down South, might have something to say about that... If I had to bet on a DLS v. either of those two, I'd bet DLS... But it'll be a war, not a blowout.

Im not sure Gutwald and a few of the Dublin big boys could play both ways. Physically they looked tired often the two times I saw them play. I would take Freedom by 2 TDs, but the best of luck to Dublin in the playoffs

If Dublin gets by Freedom, it will be an interesting matchup vs Foothill. Foothill will obviously be the favorite, but Dublin will give them a better challenge than anticipated.

I feel bad for Dougherty having to travel out to Pitt for a 1st round KO. I don't know if they quite realize what they signed up for.

The other first round D1 games should all at least be interesting. We'll see how good Dublin's defense is and if they can slow down the Falcons.

Agree Gutwald will get tired. He's big and hard to move however. Having a 3 man line with:

6'4 Bookbinder
6'7 MIllard
6'4 Gutwald

is Attractive. Freedom is favored for sure.

IF the same Dublin team that played Campo and Acalanes shows up I see a 20-17 Dublin win.

IF the Dublin team who barely beat Las Lomas shows up, Freedom wins 35-14.

As I said if there is going to be an upset it's the 6 vs. 11 game. And yes Dublin vs. Foothill would be interesting as there will be a huge crowd on both sides.

I did see the undefeated Patriots go down to the Giants years go. It's a a long shot. I hope DV is trying strip the ball on every play. They will need at least 5 Pitt turnovers to stay in this game.

I have Centennial Corona winning it all. They are very impressive for a public school, 2 D1 QBs on the roster and the best receiver in the state, not to mention 100 kids on the roster. I think they get DLS this year. Gotta get through Bosco first though.

Cal had a great win, but getting beat by Amador and Freedom beating Amador, NCS looks at head to head before anything. Stinks for Cal, but I think they have a good matchup.

Dublin has one more win than Dougherty, they beat them. With Dougherty's 3rd string QB.

Don't these kind of games happen every year Observer? You think Dougherty Valley should have just laid down and not applied? Dublin and Dougherty are both programs that had great seasons respectively.

Tri Valley. Just like the 8 players on Liberty throwing up before and during game this year against Heritage.. Stay away from the Taquerias right before game

Easy is 2-3 scores.
NCS final is the blowout.

We will blow out any team in NCS right now. We should get an auto bid

While I agree with you that DLS is playing better than any other team in NorCal and should win Section, DLS still must earn it. After all, anything can happen on the field (Pittsburg, 1991).

If you truly are a DLS player, please remember the power of humility. Prepare, practice, and play hard. But be humble. It shows respect for others, respect they deserve.

Respectfully,

A DLS Alum.

Nah. No need for humility. None of these teams are near us is the problem. I feel bad for whoever we play tbh

Ya know, Coolio... If you actually are a DLS player and coach ever found out your identity and behavior on this board, you'd be put so far down the bench you wouldn't even be able to see the stadium.

You go to a Catholic school that preaches to act with the humility that Jesus showed upon others and that your attitude?

Mater Dei would face Centennial in the Semis if both teams make it. I think you meant to say the anticipated match-up between Centennial v. St.John Bosco and agreed either one of those teams against DLS would be a good game and I would be pulling for DLS. Never can tell though how the game goes until they face each other. There have been much anticipated games in the past where DLS blew the doors off the SoCal competition. EX: 2010 Servite v. DLS. That was supposed to be a good game and we all remember how that game turned out. Oh wait I forgot us up North know how to play in the rain and SoCal doesn't, or at least that was their excuse lol.

Then I am convinced you are not on the DLS roster nor associated with the DLS community.

Ditto that. At last Friday's game, Senior Night I talked with many of the players following the game and at one point brought up Coolo1-5's name and posts. Most had no clue about the poster and one of the two who were aware of the posts said "Coach would not allow it" whatever that is supposed to mean.

@ Bubba.....Know you are a Cal High guy.
I have worked the DLS' home games most of the past decade and I have to say that the Grizzly parents/fans are right at the top with the Del Oro parents/fans as some of the nicest visiting people who come to Owen-Owen's. Knowledgeable, proud and glad to talk about the kids and HS football. They get it..........in the end its about the kids.

I have faith in the Spartans. I don't care how much talent CC has or how big their roster is. DLS proved in 2001 that the bigger more talented team is not always the better team. Look at 2001 LBP. 4 of the 5 from their fab 5 made it to the NFL and the only reason the RB didnt get a chance is because he had a career ending injury before he started playing at USC. They too had backups on that team with D1 scholarships. Could not even begin to name the number of D1's from that team. I realize DLS had 2 or 3 NFL players of their own as well on the feild that day, but they were the big underdog going into that game. So long story short, I think it will be interesting, DLS will def need to give their best game with either SJB or CC. It would not be the first time they've gone down and shown they were still king of Cali, but than sometimes the SoCal team takes it to them. Can't wait to see

I don't see MD getting past the quarters! Wager?

2001 Lad was there... Go CC!

DLS represents again in the open but whoever they face, CC or SJB, will give them a game equally as tough as Trinity. The outcome will depend on who plays more error free football. That game will be as exciting as last years open.

UnknownToMankind; This is true, but as far as I know, LAD is still holding Alumbaughs hand, so the coaching element should still be there. To be honest I am actually a SJS guy with NCS roots. I actually am more informed on the local SJS teams I follow, so I might be out of date on how much influence LAD still has on the team. Either way I predict a tough game for either side, regardless of which team it ends up being.

Based on your response of "Go CC!" I take it you are a SoCal guy. Hoping for some exciting football and guess we will see who the best team is.

Lad is still there, coaching D Line and Running backs. I am not a SoCal guy, just a Public school guy. And me saying "Go CC" I don't know why I said it haha. Would be good to see a public school win I guess.

Well you have no argument from me on the advantage of private over publics in some cases, but from my understanding, the elite publics in SoCal, including CC, have just as much recruiting going on as the privates, so despite the fact CC is public, they are basically just like a private when you look at the athletes they draw. Regardless, I just can't root for a SoCal school unless they are repping Ca in an out of state game. Go NorCal

......and not to overlook the biggest public, elephant in the room, LB Poly, with "open enrollment", just forfeited 4 games.......
