De La Salle over College Park by 12: I was impressed by CP's win over Concord last night and I doubt this one will be easy as the teams' records might indicate. CP has some quick, shifty guards who could cause problems for DLS. Of course, DLS has pounded everyone they've faced in NorCal... Still, I think this one has some possible entertainment value to it.

Foothill over Pittsburg by 1: Throughout the year, both teams have been impressive at times and not-so-good at others. I'm going with Foothill pretty much only on the basis of the result of their season-opening game which went to Foothill 64-59.

Heritage over Castro Valley by 9: I haven't seen Castro play this year, but they have only one really big win, that being over athletic, talented, inconsistent Freedom. Did Castro play off-the-charts that night, or did Freedom lay an egg as they did in their game vs. Turlock? Or both? Heritage couldn't figure out a way to beat Freedom, but I think they'll get a comfortable win here.

Dublin over Liberty by 11: Liberty sputtered their way into the playoffs, losing five of their last seven. Dublin has won ten in a row. Even though Liberty has played close with more top-flight opponents, it's hard to think they're better than the Gaels.

Dougherty Valley over California by 16: DV has terrorized the DFAL and just about everyone else they faced, and Cal has only one win vs. a real contender, that being the up-and-down College Park. I've seen both teams play, and I just don't see an upset in the cards.

Berkeley over San Leandro by 1: I have to admit, no idea on this one. They've split a pair already, so I'm just guessing based on MaxPreps rankings. I have actually seen Berkeley twice this year, but still can't figure 'em out.

Freedom over Amador Valley by 11: This one depends a lot on which Freedom happens to show up; the one that beat Folsom, or the one that had a lot of trouble with Turlock? If the "good" one shows up, this could get nasssssty.

Monte Vista over Logan by 3: Monte Vista doesn't score real high on the eye test to me this year, but they still seem to always come up huge in big games, especially late in the year. Logan has won their last sixteen games against teams not called Moreau, but they haven't fared well overall vs. top opponents.

DLS over College Park by at least 25. CP lost to Berkeley by 45 this year and to Heritage by 34, and they only beat Alhambra by 2 points just 2 weeks ago. The Falcons have played well since the Alhambra game and took the DVAL playoff title vs. Concord last night, but the DVAL is very week and DLS is not.

Foothill vs. Pitt is a toss up and could go either way, but I'll go with Pitt to exact some revenge in the rematch by 5 in an upset pick.

I'll go with Heritage at home over CV by 6. CV has beaten Freedom, Mt. Eden, San Leandro and Berkeley and if they play well they can certainly pull it out, but they come in cold riding a 3 game losing streak including losses to SL & Berkeley who they had beaten earlier in the year.

Dublin should beat Liberty by at least 10. Dublin has been playing well as of late and will be at home with a raucous crowd behind them, plus they have a win over Pitt who beat the Lions twice. Liberty started the season well and won a Max Preps preseason tourney in Palm Springs but it was not likely one of the top brackets and they have not beaten any good teams since then.

Dougherty over Cal by 21 in this cross town rivalry. DV beat Cal by 21 on the road earlier this year, and there is no reason to believe it will be any closer at Dougherty in the playoffs.

SL by 4 over Berkeley. These teams split this year, each team winning at home. This one is at SL even though Berkeley is the #7 seed due to SL's league champ status.

Freedom by 14 over AV. They're just a much better team and playing at home.

I'll go with MV by 3 over Logan in a barn burner. This one could go either way, but I think Nick Jones will have the Mustangs ready to battle and they are at home.

San leandro(league champ) could be a sleeper in D1 getting there point guard (formerly play at st joe)

Castro valley dominated Freedom & mt eden

If Pitt played like they did against Oak tech.. they can make a run as well

I think DLS and Freedom both win big. Overall, there are a lot of intriguing matchups. Really shows how deep this field is.

MV may not be great this year, but I think they'll exploit Logan's sloppiness.

This CP team reminds me of the Seb Flores, Mikey, AJ Newell, Joe Demers Days!! these boys are scrappy and they got it! On top of that their coach is a genius. Don't be surprised at an upset!!!!!

That would be an incredible upset. One of the biggest upsets in NorCal basketball history. That CP team was playing in D2 and made their NorCal run after the Open bracket was formed. This year they play the top NCS D1 team and Open candidate in the first round. CP has lost to Cal High and Northgate this year. It is just not in the cards. The would be doing well to get within 20.
