Wondering which teams make it, and which teams don't. It looks, if all things play out according to ratings and records that you can have three teams competing for one or two remaining spots.

Antioch could be 5-5. BEAT CASA GRANDE who beat Vintage and plays in the BVAL which is tougher than the VVAL.
Heritage could be 5-5. BVAL is stronger than VVAL, but will the NCS take that many teams from the same league?
Vintage could be 6-3. Could have had a good argument if they had rescheduled the Week 0 game against San Ramon Valley. Did refusing to play on a Monday hurt their chances? Does playing in a Super Weak league hurt them?

Who gets the two spots of those three teams? Going by projections, the following teams W/L records, and strength of schedule, I predict the teams below will qualify either by being a league champ or strength of schedule/league.

DLS 8-2 (East Bay Mountain)
California 9-1 (East Bay Mountain)
Pittsburgh 7-1 (BVAL)
Monte Vista 6-3 (East Bay Mountain)
Clayton Valley 6-4 (East Bay Mountain)
Liberty 6-4 (BVAL)
Logan 6-4 (MVAL) and League Champ or 5-5 if they lose to Bishop O'Dowd and probably out of the playoffs.

Vintage has to hope 2 teams knock off Casa Grande so that they can claim the League Championship, but they've lost their games that mattered against El Cerrito, Cardinal Newman, and Casa Grande.

Thoughts?

I don’t know what happened to vintage this season early. But just beating smaller/weaker schools shouldn’t be enough for a nod over Antioch who beat down casa grande handily and Vintage lost to by 2. I can see casa grande losing to Petaluma or American Canyon but a tie doesn’t ensure a playoff birth? Vintage, play some D1 schools please, although I understand some things were in the hands of nature this year and CN and EC are great teams regardless of school size. But the 8th spot in is for a bear down, and honestly Vintage would the their arse kicked by 1,2, or 3 possibly more. Great program, great kids, great coach, but D1 is a tough field.

A football only league needs to be contructed of Marin Catholic, Rancho Cotati, Cardinal Newman, Windsor, and Vintage. Maybe add a sacrificial lamb, American Canyon or Casa Grande.

I think Cal is playing for their seeding tonight. If they get blown out by a watered down De La Salle, I don’t see them getting the 2 seed over Pitt.

As far as the BVAL goes, Antioch doesn’t have a quarterback and have gone full on wildcat. I can’t see that helping them against Heritage or LIberty let alone Pitt.

I am really intrigued to see how this new dual D1 playoff system works. It is long over due in my opinion. I am also intrigued to see how the EBAL plays out. Sorting out the 3 to 6 seeds will be tough among Cal, Monte Vista, SRV and Clayton if they all beat each other.

Cal @ dLS will not quite be the 6,000 + attendance like ‘10. But with Alumbaugh isolating (“Roger that Nate…”) and players at home, it’ll be interesting to see if the O/U is 41.🤣
