NCS D5 Bracket

Been watching Bay Area Basketball for about 10-15 years now. This University Basketball team is the best there has been in that programs recent history. Every single starter is taller than 6'3 and they just tear teams apart with their free throw making, and drives to the hoop.

Haven't had a chance to watch Branson, but between Branson and University, my Stuart Hall Knights suffered 50% of their losses. Just from these two teams alone.

I think Branson and University will moonwalk into the D-5 finals. And that Championship game will be one for the ages, and a game I will attend, even though I would have no horse in the race.

3 games IMO that will be competitive tonight with the others being double digit wins for the higher seed:

St Bernards(6) v OMI(11) - small rural private school vs Oakland private school. Looking at schedules this one could be a 5 point game or less if the travel up to Eureka doesn't affect OMI too much. St Bernards in a close one.

Clear Lake(7) vs Bentley(10) - rural public school vs prep school in Lafayette. Clear Lake looks deep with 8 guys averaging between 4 and 9 points with one prolific senior scorer based on max preps. Bentley lost 2 star seniors last year and were mediocre this year, but have a few guys that can fill it up including a senior point guard who their offense revolves around. Clear Lake by 8.

Cloverdale(8) vs Head Royce(9) - another rural public school vs prep school matchup. Cloverdale has been up and down it appears so which team shows up? From max preps their leading scorer is a senior who shoots a ton of 3's and then a 6'5" freshman averaging 11 and 7. HR looks similar to Bentley in that they had some good games and not so good games througout the year. Who wants it more probably takes this one. Cloverdale by 4.

**Also don't sleep on Hoopa. Although I don't expect Redwood Christian to have much problem with them they can score and play tough from what I've heard. Now THAT'S a long trip from Hoopa!
