I did not know the young man has been playing basketball for only 2 years. Wow!
have you seen him play?
Yes. Caught him in his debut game vs a JSerra team that had a 6-11 and 7-0 player at last year's NorCal tip-off and more than held his own. Also saw him a few times in WCAL play vs Mitty, Bellarmine and SI and the team's last game against Vanden in NorCal's. He's athletic and long and knew his role as a shot blocker, rebounder and rim runner. Offensive game was raw, but put up follow up shots w/o putting it on the floor and has a nice jump hook. He earned 2nd Team all-WCAL. Appears he has put in the work in the off season.have you seen him play?
Developing his 3pt range along with his mid range and low post game will only help him out long term in HS, at the D1 level and beyond. Riordan frosh Zion Sensley has sprouted to 6-8 and another 6-7 junior returns. Its nice that hes working on 3pt range. That is not where he is going to dominate offensively though. He is only going to punish teams in the paint because no one is going to out jump him from rebounds or lobs. 100% of coaches will tell their kids, just let him shoot out there, we'll live with the outcome.
On the flipside, its a luxury for Riordan to plop 6'7 Vaihola down there if they want to feature Sek out at the 3pt line.
