Then I shouldn't have to pay taxes to build gyms for them. Let them use their own money. Why support college sports with our fees. Let the athletes do it. They havd more money then the average student.
 
Great question. Why are student fees spent on college sports?

The answer, presumably, is that sports benefit the university and thus the students. If that's the answer, how is NIL any different?

At the high school level, obviously, the gyms are built for p.e. The field space for football, baseball, etc., could also be considered as being used by the student body -- but a lot of the improvements are funded by the boosters and/or other youth leagues.
