i mean the only title that matters is the open. the rest are participation awardsVery sad. I feel like games used to be on Comcast sportsnet. At least the Socal teams got to watch their teams go 1-5 yesterday!!!!!!
Absolutely 100%. The equivalent of being Bluebonnet Bowl Champion.i mean the only title that matters is the open. the rest are participation awards

lol... the 80 freeway might have been demolished if they didnt win. thoughts and prayerssee, you're not all bad Ankleass - you let Ayalar have 24 hours to enjoy it at least.
I think the guy is giving you a hard time personally. But I also feel that in reality the state title games were way better when you had the best of each division based on enrollment play. I don’t know how many times you have been to states, but it is safe to say someone like myself would possibly not have seen Tyson Chandler, some very good Mater Dei teams, Klay Thompson, Chuck Hayes, Aaron Affalo, Gabe Pruitt, James Harden, Luke Walton, and some awesome McClymond and Oakland Tech teams back in those days. Drew Gooden, I could go on and on. I think it is unfortunate the major talent is now drawn into the open and whomever makes it makes it. You don’t have one ESPN 100 senior playing in Sac this year. Two of them got eliminated and probably would have not had they been in the correct division. Back in 2001 when I watched states for years on the floor, one of my passions was to say man I watched that kid play in a state title and now he is playing on TNT. And having experienced a state run two years in a row, one losing and one winning, it is pretty damn awesome to say we are one of 10 teams at practice this week. So personally I would love to see the Jason Kidd days when you could petition to play up. Or you stay in your enrollment division. Saw some incredible players over the years, and to only see one who is a junior on the ESPN top 60 chart play this weekend, not worth a trip to Sac for a Old high school junkie like myself. And in the day of prep schools swallowing kids up left and right, I would love to see the elite of the state who have the heart to stay at their respective high schools play for all the marbles. Just my two cents, congrats to all the winners over the weekend. And man, dole of those girls games over the years, wow. Only time I could watch high girls basketball all weekend. So many sour grapes I don’t even know where to begin. I guess I’ll start off by saying not going to miss people like ankle that’s for sure. Know it all‘s who think they’re some sort of Internet tough guy. But in real life would probably just squat in the corner and take his medicine.
Only one school even close to San Francisco won a state title this year that team is Stuart Hall. Why don’t you go over to the sh people on the football board And tell them that their football state title means nothing.
Guys at the end of the day these are teenage kids. Why not let them have their moment? Why take it away from them?
The competitive equity model has hurt Stuart Hall in the past. This time it worked out for us.
so unless you’re gonna say something literally to my face in person don’t spout off like some Internet tough guy.
That was Salesian v Bishop Montgomery with the buzzer beater in 2009. Salesian v Price was 2012For sh..s and giggles I just looked back at the champions since 2000. In todays world, 80-90 percent of the teams would have not made it to Arco. May have never saw Jrue Holiday, Luke Walton, one of the most unreal endings of all time Salesian versus Price, and boatloads of big time D1 players. Tayshaun Prince, Westchester, Fairfax, fantastic De La Salle teams always less talented, Jeremy Lin, Bishop Montgomery, O’Dowd, Horizon, Price, we could go on and on. And the WCAL my league alum would not have the titles they do between schools or appearances as well. And I definitely would like to watch teams without a combined 93 total losses between 6 divisions. Tonight, two of the best playing shortly have 6. And the whole open, 14 total teams had 71. And 9 of the 14 have 5 losses or less. The elite teams are not in Sacramento this year. And if it stays this way, welp, not interested in watching teams with 12,12,10,12,13 and 12 losses each play for a state title. So probably why ankle says what do these titles mean. Yes it’s great for the kids and the school, but if it stays this way as more and more kids hit the prep and academy school route, the California state title games will lack a lot of talent that is still left in various high schools.
Kenny is a great guy. So much positive energyThank you for the correction. You are right, unreal ending. It’s funny my sons principal at St Davids in Richmond was on that Salesian team. You got a better memory than myself
Yes he is. Glad to have him as a a friend as well now. We just hung out the other night for about 30mins. That was a great team he was on. And when looking back, that may be a team that didn’t make it in the way things are done today.Kenny is a great guy. So much positive energy
