Here is the updated Nor-Cal Composite Top 20 for Dec 5 before all of the NorCal Bowl Games this weekend.
Watch for more schools/teams to work the system next year. Actually teams have always done it, but with the wide berth of systems among the sections, the active motive is clear.CVC at #17 in NorCal, but last place in the EBAL Mountain?

Actually I've heard rumors about CCS schools scheduling in such a way for 2020 to get a lower playoff division for a quick run to a section title. It just so happens that the NCS system has been gamed for a while and probably the most egregiously pronounced system. Look at how many times DLS has been kicked out of leagues. And how many times CN vies to stay in D-4 citing they are just following NCS rules, etc.FIFY
The NCS is the only section that allows teams to hide in lower divisions. Now, people are crying about D-I. Really, what is the section supposed to do about it? Make DLS the only D-I school and put everyone else in D-II or lower?
Agree! Make DLS play for the Norcal Open spot, not automatically advance. This year Oak Ridge would be that victim. Then Central would be playing Serra. San Joaquin against Clayton, etc.FIFY

And that's my issue with all these people crying about ptivate schools and unfair advantages and claiming to be "Public School Champs". Look at the last 5-10 years of BVAL teams (especially Liberty teams the last couple years). Littered with transfers, players that live in other cities, using relatives, coaches, friends addresses, to be eligible to transfer and play football. Yet, they complain about private schools. It's essentially the same thing.FIFY

hmm, Folsom Rule..., NCS Rule, East Bay-Mountain Rule, Heck, why doesn't the NCS give DLS a season-long bye and pay for DLS to play all OFS powerhouses and then auto DLS as their Open representative. That way NCS could ensure their second best team has a shot at regionals. That really wouldn’t be all that different than the way the regional playoffs are run. With DLS the Open team, and everyone else outside of NCS D1 still having a chance to be considered “State Champions” without having to face Sparty.
