Is the state of Asian-American basketball so poor, a separate "all-star" game is needed to showcase them? Some of these so-called "all-stars" can't even get off the bench of their high school teams.

You do understand the 7:30pm is the All-Star Game correct? Can you name one player in that game that meets your description of not getting off the bench of their high school team?

Sorry in looking again, I see what you mean. I guess more of the people Im thinking about are in the Rising "stars" designation. I guess I just don't understand why in this day and age, race-exclusive events are celebrated. To each their own, I guess.

Agreed.

Alameda High had a 6'7
Senior in Daniel Kang. He should have played.
Thanks for the input. He was actually nominated and we did contact him about the event. He is not available on that date. Impressive young man. Has a 4.5 gpa!

Hi. Are the rosters finalized at this point? I know someone that did not get an invite but I believe would be a great addition to the seniors roster. If there's a way to contact you privately, I'd be more than happy to provide you more information. Thank you.

Thanks for your interest. The rosters have been final for some time as we had to order custom jerseys far in advance, but it's possible that someone may not be cleared from an injury to play. We did the best we could to get the word out about nominations, but for a first year event it's apparent not every person would get nominated. You can send us an email norcalsportstv@gmail.com with the player you have in mind and we will get back to you on any possibilities. Thanks!

NIkko Echalas from Arroyo looked very good yesterday in the Dougherty Valley Summer Shootout. He may be in the running for Player of the Game come Thursday!

Kinda curious how you came up with the list of nominations?
Announced people to email us, contact us on twitter, or leave comments on our website where we were accepting nominations. Had the nominations open for at least 4 weeks.

Mello Dunbar interview from Media Day #2. Entertaining. Looking forward to seeing him in action on Thursday!

We'd like to thank all the parents, family, friends and sponsors for making our event an amazing one. The amount of talent and support far exceeded our expectations! This was a monumental day for the Asian American Community. It is an acknowledgment of how far we have come and how much more work that needs to be done. The appreciation and the overwhelming feeling of joy from family and friends was palpable. It was emotional on many levels because Asian Americans still have to overcome stigmas and prejudices despite our achievements and contributions to this great country of ours. I feel the event was more an acknowledgement of the sacrifices and acts of courage and determination from our grandparents and parents that blazed this trail that allow us to look at the future with great optimism and hope.

Thank you to NorCal Sports TV and CSBtv for an amazing production. We would not have done it without our amazing staff and CSUEB for allowing us to hold this event on their beautiful campus. And to our sponsors Hatch Realty Group, Meeting Rooms on Demand, Farmers Insurance and Mavrik Studio for believing in our vision. This is only the beginning...
