With BSU having so many players from Southern California in many respects the SJSU win signals a NorCal over SoCal victory

Apparently you haven’t really looked at the SJSU roster. There are almost 40 kids from Southern CA on SJSU’s team. Same as BSU. LOL.

since there are twice as many people in SoCal than NorCal it stands to reason that there are twice as many D1 caliber players down south than there are up north. Take another look at the SJSU roster and you will see several from central California. All totaled there are probably as many from NorCal as there are from SoCal

So a team with about 40 Southern CA kids beat another team with about 40 Southern CA kids, and according to you that “signals a NorCal over SoCal victory”? LOL...OK.

My point was there are far fewer SoCal kids and far more norcal kids on this Spartan team than there was only five years ago.

Then you should have just said that...although you are wrong. The 2016 roster has less than 40 Southern CA kids, the 2015 roster has about 40 - basically the same numbers as this year.

Their aces on the majority are NorCal kids not all but majority, that’s the pretty cool part! Harmon manning the middle, bay kids on the edge destroying QBs, Marin Catholic boy protecting the QB all MWV first team, secondary lead by NorCal kids, kicker from Palma money all year, that kinda stuff gives it a nice NorCal flair......like I said So Cal kids play a huge role but we all
Recognize them nor cal kids make plays all over....kids we posted about a few years ago on this board

Well I don't wanna hear anyone talking about the Lakers and Dodgers championships having an asterisk!
SJ won during a pandemic year. They will go back to being God awful for the next 40 years with the 40 norcal kids.

I see where my post is technically inaccurate. However, like MC415 said this Spartan team definitely has a NorCal feel about it with several local kids in key positions making huge contributions. Are there fewer out of state players on this roster as opposed to 2015? Back in 2015 when my son had mountain west offers from UNLV, Reno and New Mexico he was in contact with SJSU and Cal. Neither of them pulled the trigger and offered. I asked him last night if he had a SJSU offer would he have taken it over Cal Poly and he said no. I’m pretty sure the reasons were 1) SJSU is only 30 minutes from home and it’s a bit of a commuter school like BSU, as opposed to a college town 3 hours away which feels more like going away to college. 2) at the time the Spartan program was weak. As it turns out he had no way of knowing Walsh would run the Cal Poly program into the ground. All in all he has no regrets because he got to play D1 football, live in a beautiful place like SLO and come away with a good degree.

I really enjoyed watching those kids reactions when they slayed the BSU giants. What a great memory for them to have the rest of their lives. When it’s all said and done ultimately memories are all any of us have

now that your out, it had to be the coaches fault

This was really cool. This season has been great for San Jose State. Now they have to build on it but for now, it is fine to have some fun with it.

not at all probably the only mountain west programs that Bubba Jr would have accepted would have been BSU,SDSU or Fresno. All programs offer the guys they feel fit their system best and apparently SJSU didn’t feel that way. With those three programs being primarily passing teams and Cal High running the ball 85% of the time, I suspect they had questions about his pass blocking skills. As it turns out despite playing in the triple option playing left tackle, pass blocking was the biggest area of improvement in his game. He was one of those D1A caliber player that chose to play FCS aka D1AA, five years of free college with a degree at the end is nothing to shake a stick at. No regrets.
