With Elijah Hardy (Washington) and Naseem Gaskin (Utah) signing on Wednesday, the O'Dowd instagram account posted saying it was the first time a Bay Area backcourt signed to the Pac-12 since 1949.

I can't think of a recent backcourt to refute that statement.

I believe there were two guards from Casa Grande in the northbay that signed pac 10 in the early 2000's 02 03 04 somewhere in that range

Wow.. Great call guys. Those were some good times in the north bay w/ Tiedeman at Monty as well. I believe Angelo was a French kid.

Wow, brought up some good memories of Josh Akognon and Angelo Tsagarakis at Casa Grande. We won a lot of games and had some really good memories. Angelo was as confident of a shooter I have ever seen at the high school level. Josh was extremely raw, but ended up having a really good professional career (and dropped 28 pts a few weeks ago against the Houston Rockets).

Both are still playing professionally and staying healthy.

Pac8/10/12 conference has only existed since the 60's, so 1949 is kind of nonsensical, since current Pac 12 teams were in different conferences.
