Ollie out at UCONN. JAMES Akinjo?

If he was smart he had a backup plan working because this was no surprise.
A lot of schools would love to have him. I'm sure he lands somewhere good.

He's already signed a LOI, hasn't he? UCONN would have to grant a release for him to sign with someone else. Quite a few schools, including Cal offered him. But they may have filled spots with other players

If the coach is fired I’m pretty sure they release him. I’ve never heard of a situation where they haven’t. They will release him and I’m sure he will land at a pac 12 maybe Arizona or USC.

99% of the time a school allows a kid to back out after a coach’s firing.

They are also using "Just Cause" as part of his firing. Meaning they are attempting to not pay the 10 million he is owed. They are under investigation.

There is a Twitter post the kids have going around that the Salesian player is decommitting.

Indeed, I have heard that James is going to de-commit by Monday.

Honestly, if James were smart he would go the "Lillard" route and play for a smaller school. Teams that I think would work for his style of play are St. Mary's, USF, Grand Canyon and my darkhorse is Pacific University.

Damon Stoudamire still needs a guard next year, and I think he could connect with Akinjo the way Ollie did. Look for Pacific to come in and potentially seal up Akinjo.

Akinjo is a pac 12 kid. He can go to most pac 12 teams and start right away. Not sure who will jump on ship. I’m sure Arizona will now that every kid in 2018 has de-committed. But not sure if that’s a good situation for him with the Miller FBI case. Obviously he will do great in WCC but just think that’s not his type of basketball. Unless he was to go to Gonzaga

I don't see AKINJO going from a UCONN national recruit to UOP. Sorry that aint happening.

Like I said earlier this was brewing for quite sometime. If he was smart he was talking to other coaches.

You never know. Damon Stoudemare obviously was a pro, seems like he should be able to start getting some better prospects at UOP. Especially, a point guard. If he were my kid, I would want him to be coached by a former pro at his position.
