As we await the seedings meeting to conclude with a bracket we can anticipate and predict.

Teams Appearances-with this year added from H.E.A.T.'s record thread.

De la Salle-7
Salesian-7
Buchannan-1 could be SoCal. 1st ever potential invite to Open (maxpreps#22 Ca)
St. Joesph-3 could be SoCal
MC-10
Folsom-4
Riordan-3
St. Ignatius-1 1st potential invite to Open. ( maxpreps#21 Ca )

I have Riordan as the favorite above St. Joesphs, then DLS, Folsom for home games.
road team: MC, St. Ignatius, Buchannan and Salesian.

Buchannan at Riordan
St. Ignatius at St. Joesph
MC at DLS
Salesian at Folsom

Except for last Season a SJS team has made it to the northern California Open finals.

I like the way the bracket sets up for Riordan - certainly the winner of Salesian - MC will be tough but not having St Josephs in NorCal and DLS dealing with Blair's injury is a big break as well.

Wishing Blair a quick recovery as he has a week for his ankle to heal.

I like that St Joseph’s was put in SoCal where they belong……but that SoCal side of the bracket is so brutal. I’m personally hoping for Notre Dame vs. Riordan, but we’ll see how the cards may fall.

I can’t see any of those Norcal teams keeping it close with Riordan.

I think Riordan rolls Norcal by 15-20+ a game and then plays close but looses in the State Final

It looked like a bad one in person. I HOPE that it wasn't that bad and that he'll be able to play against Folsom - they'll need him no doubt but DLS won't be a pushover w/o him either.

I talked to Alec briefly after the game... There was an ice pack on the outside of the ankle he injured. Just for the heck of it, I asked how it felt, and he answered with "Awesome"!

Of course, the team had just won and he was in the best of moods... Hopefully, he still feels awesome...

BTW, did anyone else get stuck in that huge traffic backup on 680 afterward? I was stationary in the right lane for almost an hour.

If I had seen the situation just a bit earlier, I would have been able to exit at Sycamore Valley and navigate my way home... But that was not to be.

Blair was killing Salesian before he got hurt; however, DLS looked a little more cohesive and actually went up by more when he went down.

I hope he heals up too, but like you said, DLS is tough either way.

EBAL got them ready. Salesian’s league hurts them a bit IMO. Good to see St. Mary’s Berkeley getting better though.

Salesian is a bit young this year. Should be the top team in NorCal next season.
