Pac 12 tourney showing

I can't even understand what is happening. LOL But hey I am happy we are showing good.

Outside the Pac-12, I thought UCSB, Eastern Washington and Grand Canyon all showed well for themselves.

Good few days for West Coast basketball

Makes me think that Gonzaga might have not been undefeated if they had played some Pac-12 opponents in non-conference play like in most years. Setting up to be a potential elite 8 matchup of the Zags vs Ducks or Trojans

3 Pac-12 teams in the Elite Eight. I'm pretty sure that has never happened...

I was sure my UCLA Bruins were in free-fall mode the way they finished the reg. season and Pac-12 playoffs, but they're still playing!

I'm not liking the chances of any of the three in the next round, but I sure hope they keep surprising me...

Just wondering: How many NorCal hoops products are making major contributions in the Sweet Sixteen? Do not see a whole bunch. Please refresh me.

Pac-12 has 13 wins total in the tourney as of the end of today's games.

That's about 10 to 12 more than I thought they would get.

Final 4 is set... and my UCLA Bruins (who I thought were in total freefall at the end of the season and wouldn't even win their play-in game) are in the freakin' Final 4!

Gonzaga is next... I am *nottttttt* confident, but GO BRUINS!

Yes it’s happened before . 2001 was the last time . 4 teams Arizona , Stanford , USC, and UCLA advanced to sweet 16. Eventual champion Duke knocked out UCLA. The other 3 made elite 8 . Duke beat Arizona in the final

difference in usc and ucla. usc played like they didnt belong there and had zero defensive intensity. ucla played like they had nothing to lose and cronin has made them into a tough group of defenders.

Yeah it wasn’t pretty on offense for them outside Juzang but damn did they give Michigan hell on every single possession, there was not many open looks for Michigan

And how about an all PAC 12 women’s final as Arizona shocks UCONN and Stanford hangs on to beat South Carolina

Looks like UCLA is going to be good for a long time with Cronin at helm. Very impressed with how hard his teams play.

That was a classic indeed. And I agree that the Bruins made a great hire in Cronin... And it also helps greatly that their previous AD finally retired.

It was fairly well-known around the campus that the previous AD didn't really like basketball and seemed to try and de-emphasize it whenever possible. No clue why he ever took the job at a basketball school when he didn't like the game...

well his pay check prolly had a little to do with him taking the job.

That's no lie, but he probably could have made a similar check elsewhere.

Anyway, he did actually hire Cronin, so there is that...

I also heard yesterday that Cronin was actually only hired after four other well-established coaches had turned UCLA offers down. So there is that...

UCLA entire team returns. Cronin run and how well those kids play together has been great for recruiting. I expect good things from Bruin nation next year. And who wouldn’t want to pay with Jaime jaques! He’s the ultimate teammate.

If they can get Chris Smith back fully healthy , and add a recruiting piece or two, look out

Juzang isn’t coming back

No but he’s a borderline lottery pick, he’s going to start making his money, what’s the point of playing another year for free when his stock is hot?
Yeah, his stock is up right this minute, but I think he could probably use another year in school

What’s the point of losing seven figures in your account to play another year for free? It’s 2021 it’s extremely rare for someone to play for another year to end up in the same position, except one year older and with millions less in his bank account

you can only get worse. you will never be this hot again. if only he had a floater he wouldnt have ran over the defender. he as good as gone. this was cute but his bro playing in vietnam for 200.00 a game. johnny not tryna to spend another year in westwood. plus he gotta keep up with emma smith.

agree. Scratch juzang off returning list due to his performance in the tourney. I think he will be a solid middle 1st round pick at worse.

Juzang's stock will probably never get higher than it is now, but lottery is a bit of stretch. Not my decision, but he should still go and I think he will go somewhere in the second half of the first round.

From the NBA draft pundit podcasts I've been listening to, some think Jaquez may have a higher NBA upside than Juzang.

If Juzang gets a first round guarantee, he should definitely declare. UCLA should be fine with 5-star wing Peyton Watson coming in 2021-2022. UCLA looking good on paper.

Devin Askew is leaving Kentucky. Probably end up bac in LA too. He should have never graduated early.

I'd hate to see him end up in the G league after all this

Streak i don’t think he has the foot speed or ability to create to go higher than middle first round. You are probably right in terms of later half. But he is so efficient and such a great shooter that I think he finds a home. Gotta go when you are hot.
