Patrick Schneider steps down at Bellarmine

Great coach and person. Pat is an SI grad who played under Bob Drucker. His dad, Bernie, was a Riordan grad, played at USF and is acoaching legend in the North Bay-RIP. All the best to Coach Pat in his next chapter.

Congrats Pat on pacing the sidelines for many years. Played softball with your bro a few years. Job well done. Enjoy sitting in the stands and not on the floor. And hell now you can enjoy the great Bellarmine hot dogs.

Hopefully this gives Bellarmine the chance to modernize the way they play, similarly to how their football team has. If so they will be a consistent Open winner within one or two years.

The basketball team is in a far differnet spot than where was the football program was a couple of years ago. They have been to two NorCal Open Divisions since it started in 2013. Not many programs can say that

Bellarmine is definitely an Open caliber program. They should be winning it regularly.

He has had some wonderful assistant coaches from Jamon Osbe to Alex Sarrett the last few years which helped keep the team current. Coach Schneider was a good coach but all runs come to an end. His teams were always prepared, my son faced them about 7 years ago and they had our number.

I think they need to hire from the outside in this instance, it's time for some new blood to rejuvenate the program.
