Milpitas and Pinole Valley both had steam roller offenses, but a lack of discipline cost both teams .
In the playoff between Alhambra and Bishop O'Dowd, the bulldogs should have won as they had two TD's called back, but due to their foolish penalties, the Dragons won 17-14....This is a must for all teams for ther 2016 season to work on....

Penalties absolutely destroyed the Bulldogs this year... If they were more disciplined a lot of there games would have been different (Acalanes,Miramonte and Bishop). Next years and the year after, Alhambra should be one to watch with a lot of young talent on both sides of the ball.

Pittsburg traditionally gets lots of penalties and often overcomes them. Heavily running teams simply can't afford lots of penalties, not being built for long yardage situations. Those same running teams must play good defense and never allow themselves to get very far behind. To me a balanced offense is key to success. Was it Darrell Royal that said "three things can happen when you pass the ball and two of them are bad"?

It was indeed Darrell Royal, but it had falsely also been attributed to Woody Hayes. Woody may have been referring to the 4th possibility, an interception followed by sideline assault.

Referees can upgrade their officiating ability very easily --- keep their flags in their waistbands!

Funny stuff: http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/authors/d/darrell_royal.html
One of the big problems in holding penalties is the person across from you is giving you trouble which results in holding, the line men and the defensive backs have to learn to keep their hands to them selves if they can't block properly...Its easy to grab and hope that the ref won't see it, but most make it easy to see....And jumping off sides trying to get an advantage is costly, paying attention to what you are doing helps a lot.....Note the few penalties by Concord, Amador and Freedom, that's the way it should be done...
