Plan B for high school hoops in so cal

I want people to look at this model. Why does California always have to stick out like a sore thumb?

By the time Feb 1st hits, the entire Country, outside of California will be playing high school sports.

Already right now as we speak over 25 states are playing organized High School Basketball.

Extremely disappointed that it is Jan 2nd, and we have yet to see the CIF or anyone in charge of local sports take charge and try and fight for these kids season!

you wouldnt know what the cif has done considering you are not all that important to know. but they already put out the dates. what else would you like?

Curious if they will play as high schools or have to form "clubs"

Not 100% correct. Oregon has pushed the season start all the way back to May 17. New Mexico has pushed season start back to March 22.

These dates are from a Dec. 23 MaxPreps article.

It also lists Hawaii, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, New York, Rhode Island, and Vermont as states who have not determined a start date.

Just gonna hazard a few guesses here... CA's current planned start date for hoops practice is March 12, and I think March 27 is the first date for games... I think.

If the gov't can get their heads outta their buttocks and get the vaccines rolling out like they should (rather than the little bit of 'em out thus far) and a lot of shots have found their way into the arms of the most vulnerable (older, sick, and front-line workers) people with a lot more on their way by, sayyy... March 1, and the numbers are clearly beginning to go down, I would think the dates would hold up, at least for the players and personnel. Fan attendance for game would still almost certainly be curtailed, limited, or non-existent unless the numbers go way down.

Or... Since Oregon seems to think they can push it all the way back to mid-May and still get a season in, maybe there's some room for California to do similar if they feel the need.

All we can do is wait and hope.

BTW, at least a couple of my Facebook friends have received their first shots already, so things are looking up...
