By a score of 35-21, Pleasant Valley's Vikings from Chico beat River Valley's Falcons from the River, or the Valley, or Yuba City, or all three according to a source who has never lied to me.

Interesting, that a way inland team, from Chico (Pleasant Valley, no less), what, a 3-4 hour drive from the ocean, calls itself the Vikings, a hoard of sea-faring part human part Neanderthals who were anything but "pleasant." I dunno, there oughta be a law. Your school names is Pleasant Valley, you from Chico, you nickname name should be the Chickens or Chicsters or Cheeky Cheerios, but not the Vikings. On that note, i think the last "falcon" ever spotted in Yuba City was in 1954 in the sights of a 4-10 shotgun. The Live Oak "Acorns" of Morgan Hill are probably the only high school nick name connected to something connected to it. Although, Live Oak Acorns of Live Oak, CA would be the ultimate team name. FINAL SCORE: PV 35, RV 21. It was 35-5 in the 3Q. RV must have scored 2 TDs and 2 2 pt conversions after a FG and safety.

Just a reminder to all that may not know or remember that a Super Bowl and League MVP played his high school football at Pleasant Valley!! His name of course, one Aaron Rodgers!! Of course Serra has a dude of their own whom just happens to play for my Patriots, Tom Brady!!

Good point, farmair3. My brother, who now lives in Chico, told me a story that a couple seasons back when the fall air in that area was filled with Rogers fever, there was a brief movement to rename the school "Mr. Roger's Neighborhood Academy." And that the school's nickname was going to be changed from "Vikings" to "Elmo's Ring of Fire." Naturally, cooler heads prevailed.

Actually, it was the school's attorney who convinced everyone that none of it would be a good idea after the School Board received a cease and desist order from PBS that the only neighborhood that could be named after "Mr. Rogers" is on PBS Saturday morning reruns and that, even though it was a nice thought to rename the team after one of its Seasame Street Muppets, the idea of a team logo and a furry red mascot running around wearing a Viking Helmet as some sort of pussified nod to the past would not cut it.

BTW, about Tom Brady and deflategate.

Since everyone involved with that scandal has been keeping their eyes and the entire conversation on Brady being involved in something being done on purpose to deflate "the" balls, they overlooked the fact that Boston is so darn cold during the NFL season and that the temps grow colder and colder by the end of the season, that Tom Brady's hands get perpetually frozen, sort of like permafrost never thawing out and by the time it's the post-season, with his big hands becoming such frozen slabs, whenever he touches a football (as anyone who's ever paid attention during a high school science class knows) his freezing fingers when wrapped around the ball actually start freezing the Oxygen atoms inside the ball and the ions and electrons spinning around the nucleus of these atoms start slowing down which, as everyone knows, causes balls to deflate.

I know, I know what yer thinking, everything a guy needs to now about life can be learned right here on Nor Cal Preps website! Muds
