How do public schools pay for expensive tournament schedules?
Crowdsourcing?????
Guess I see why LBP is not coming to the WCJ.

It's all about fund-raising. I've taken many different teams to the Nike TOC in Phoenix, and it's a big, expensive trip. We try to raise a bunch of money (through Shootouts, to name one example) and of course parents have to chip in.

Usually, parents are OK with it, but if there's a financial hardship, we've been able to make it work. Obviously it's tougher at schools from less affluent areas.

The Iolani Tournament is different, in that they pay for everything (as I understand it) once you get there. I think it's a Nike event, but I'm not that hooked in.

Title IX pays a set amount to each team, I think, though again I could be wrong.
