Prayers for Piscotty

Piscotty was a star in the East Bay at Amador Valley prior to The Farm. Two younger brothers, one P at Duke for a short while, the other now a Soph at SMC in Moraga...a baseball family. The video is fairly definitive. A Grade 3 concussion, as it appears he loses concsciousness for 10-15 seconds, and the rigidity of his right arm indicates so. Really struck me with the similarity of Jahvid Best's collision while at Cal. Piscotty's in great hands and will probably have the best of diagnosis and treatment due to the severity and the fact Matheny retired due to his multiple Grade 1's. He has his whole career ahead of him, and a great start to it, so caution and excellent medical care will be primary. With family experience both with a temporal grade 3 (and resultant tragic demise) and a personal meeting with an OF pole at Livermore High (no warning track), these traumas can be devastating all the way to temporary in nature in totality. Thankfully, he tested out according to reports which means no temporal bone fracture, middle ear membrane tear or hemorrhagic issue to his brain. It's still a concussion issue though, and his neck ligaments, just like rolling an ankle, will be affected. I sure hope he's back in the swing of things soon.

Have to agree with everything said here about Piscotty. I like him so much more than the years I watched him on the Farm. He has had a huge growth spurt, "just looks like a ball player" and his jumped the broom by leaps and bounds.

Use to have "some" holes in his swing - not so much right now. Great physical frame, poise and presence.
