Pre-Season top 20??

Correction to the write up:

Tolu Jacobs is no longer at Capital. Will attend a prep school. Capital will still be tough with their guards.

Don’t see them as a top 20 team with out him. They have zero size and inside presence.

I do realize it's a pre season ranking Capital Christian is ranked to high and Dublin is
better then 12 bellarmine should also be ranked higher.

I don't think Tolu makes that big of a difference. They would have dropped a couple of spots, but for what Tolu is right now, it doesn't take Capital from Top 10 to out of the rankings IMO.

Dublin has a good backcourt and a solid inside presence, but losing Timmy Falls creates some potential scoring issues. For Bellarmine, depth around Wojcik and Stubblefield is the question for me.

I hear he's out injured so maybe it's a moot point but I thought that I read online that Munson was transferring to MT?

He transferred to MT and then came back to Capital. However, yes he is injured

I had the luxury to watch DLS play 4 games last year. 11 seems not quite right, they will be a top 5 time by the end of the year. The 51-45 game over Dublin was one of the best high school games I have ever watched.

Agree on that DLS win over Dublin (I was also there)... Terrific, extremely well-played contest!

However, DLS had about a half-dozen seniors including their top three players. Lots to replace...

The JV's had a great record last year, but to me they didn't exactly blow away "the eyeball test". So it's a "We'll see" kind of situation.

The physicality of that contest was second to none! DLS on the defensive end is why I think they will have another great year. Time will tell if they will end up in the top end. There is another team in that league that was young and talented but i can't remeber who? Possibly a dark horse?

Also look for Monte Vista to be a factor again in the EBAL/NCS this year, after a rough injury plagued campaign last season. They've got some horses and Nick Jones is going to have this team ready to go.

Who are the horses . . .?

I really like Bellarmine. There 1 pt loss to a very good sheldon team last year was one of best games i watched all of last season. Could have gone either way. They have 1/2 there team back but do lose stud guard Angelo Athens who I believe was a 4 year varsity player. In either event they have 2 low tier D1 kids back in Wojcik and Stubblefield but more importantly they know how to play as a team and are coached well. Bells and SI should be a great WCAL and don't rule out Mitty.

losing the size hurts, but the backcourt is rock solid. Dublin should be the best in the entire tri-valley area, easily.

I agree 1,000% LL! Also Serra, VC and dare I say Riordan are going to be much improved.... The one team that I'll be interested in checking out will be St Francis who return Logan Johnson but don't know who else they'll have on their roster that'll scare anyone.... There's a lot of parity in the league this year and I expect a lot of ultra-competitive / grind it out games this year. I'm excited that it's ALMOST go time!

WCAL is back big time SF_Mikey. You got some really good teams down there. Should be a great league with some of the best coaches in Norcal. Wish I could get to more games in that area.

Agree with both of you... The WCAL is going to be tremendous this year! I'll probably make the roadie thru traffic and distance from Concord in order to get me some of the WCAL stuff...
