Prolific picked to be 8 seed

In the Geico High School basketball championship. Would be cool to finally see a California team get a shot in this tourney.

That’s only projections... They haven’t made decisions at the tourney yet.

However, I would guess ESPN would love to have the Unicorn at this, since they televise it.

I’ve watched every game of this tourney since they started up a few years ago... It’s a terrific event.

Since they arent affiliated with the CIF they get to play by their own rules. Before the season started I thought this would be a good goal for this team.

Unfortunately if they get the 8-seed as projected...that would mean Montverde in the first round. And I know anything is possible any given night, but I just don't see Montverde losing against PP. Way too disciplined and as deep as PP is....Montverde is the deepest in America. Cade Cunningham is what dreams are made of.....

Originally they weren’t because they weren’t affiliated with one school. I could be wrong but I thought that’s how it was for the first couple of years.

Right now, Prolific Prep is playing in the "Grind Session World Championship". They are #1 seed, the team they are playing is the #8 seed. Quarterfinal, overtime just about to start. My guess is a loss here would likely knock PP out of the running for GEICO.

The team they are playing, Central Pointe Christian, is ranked #16 in Florida, about 150 in the US.

Currently 13-8 West Oaks....Seriously I feel like this is the only sports I am going to get to see for awhile, so i'm enjoying it.

The cameraman already showed there are no fans in the building, just family/friends.

Pretty sad way for West Oaks to go out, since they have ZERO chance at making it past this Tournament. They beat PP earlier this year...how do you throw in the towel so early?

If I were the athletic director at West Oaks, I don't care if my coach, was Coach K...if they pulled a stunt like that, they wouldn't get a warning...they'd get their walking papers that same day!

Prolific best Our Savior Lutheran and their star guard Posh Alexander to win the Grind Session World Championship.

Odds are there will be no Geicos this year so this is the last high school basketball game. Until next year folks!

A week ago Prolific Prep of Napa Christian was given an invitation to GEICO.
They were the 6th team to get invited along with Montverde, Sunrise Christian, Wasatch Academy, Oak Hill Academy, and Dorman HS (SC). Dematha was given an invite but school president declined the invitation because they don't play in April.

La Lumiere was given an invite to replace Dematha Catholic HS.

Grayson HS of GA lost the 7A Georgia state championship and IMG took their spot.

Prolific Prep of Napa Christian is the only program in CA eligible for GEICO because all CIF teams are ineligible to play in GEICO because:
- CIF teams are not allowed to play after their CIF season ends
- CIF teams are not allowed to play teams who do not play in their respective State Association State Championship which means CIF teams cannot play:
Montverde Academy
IMG
La Lumiere
Wasatch Academy
Prolific Prep of Napa Christian
Sunrise Christian
Since all those teams do not play for their respective state championship.

Prolific Prep has been eligible for GEICO the last 4 years, almost getting an invite a couple years ago with Gary Trent's 31-2 team.

Anyways, GEICO moved their championship to Dorman HS in SC and as of yesterday have postponed the event/tournament.
