In only their second year, prolific prep has assembled one of the BEST teams in the nation! If you are a fan or have kids that are involved in hoops, I highly suggest you to take them down to catch a game. Watching these highlights is nothing compared to the excitement inside the gym. Me having the chance to watch Josh Jackson play ball before he enters the NBA is something I will always remember. Prolific Prep... Host MORE home games!

For me, I couldn't make it. I'm missing today's Las Positas JC tournament today, too. Wish the promised live webstream worked...

Getting the Shingles sucks. Getting the Shingles just as live hoops starts up REALLY sucks.

Don't knock it until you've tried it. Great hoops is being played up there.

While it is fun to watch great players play, I find it more enjoyable to watch a good competitive game. Something about cross town rivalries leaving everything they have on the floor - and perhaps not even reaching the rim for the reverse dunk - is a thrill. Prolific Prep sounds like a powerhouse program and deserves at least an occasional viewing. However, I would be looking for the most competitive game they play, not one of repeated break away dunks.

I agree with ya to a point there, Gry... as far as the highlight video goes, I would rather have seen a full-game replay. Hard to tell whether the other team is any good or not if all you see is them getting dunked on. However, considering that string-of-dunks video is just three minutes and that they play 40, I'm sure other things of all types happened along the way. After all, the other guys did manage to put up 80 points...

Meanwhile, this thought occurred to me yesterday. I know PP isn't a school and that kids on the team attend mostly other local high schools, such as nearby Cardinal Newman. Since the PP kids do make friends at these local schools, I'm sure that at least some of those friends attend PP games when they can. Imagine being a friend of a PP player... You have TWO teams to root for! Works for me...

No, I am the one that got Shingles. Acted on it early, and it won't stop me for more than another few days. :)

caught a quick glimpse of the scoreboard that they did a great job of keeping out of the high light
video. If 110 to 75 or something like that is your version of good hoops be my guest at it. I am not saying
that the players are bad at all there is definitely great talent on the floor and jackson is a stud but its
Showcase basketball .NOBODY and i mean NOBODY is getting
put on there ass in a game with 10 or more lobs for dunks please somebody tell me what high school
or college coach with any medium to average program would you see that happening at.I am trying
My hardest to leave this subject of P P and there brand alone but dont tell me that is a good basketball.I
am sure next i will hear that the offense is just that talented and that there is nothing the defense could do there is nobody chugging anybody on defensive nobody in the lane with help on defense. Its showcase
and entertainment basketball i hope they do well as they are helping kids move to that next level i just wish they could promote it on there own website.

People need to recognize what PP is and you either will support it or you won't. I think some people on this board just won't support it and even hate on it because it is so different than what we are used to. This is not high school basketball people these are prep schools which means it's much much closer to being college ball. I tip my hat to Phil and Jeremy for putting together one of the best few prep schools programs in less than 2 years. Everything they have done looks to be first rate and above board. I wish NCP would not include PP in rankings and write ups because these are not norcal players. We want to hear about and follow kids we have watched and supported since they were kids.

I totally agree! These are all star players playing on a AAU team. Prep basketball is way different from high school ball.

"Prolific Prep could be America's BEST basketball team!!!"

Who Cares! However, I would enjoy watching Josh Jackson perform on any team any day! So it's all good!

others outside of this small board care. I find it funny to see people trying to marginalize what prolific prep has going on.

hey bones40,

after hearing what the refs are stressing on this year is high school basketball there won't be anyone "Chugging" anybody this year, "players must be allowed to move freely through the lane" no cutting out territory to post in the paint and no taking steps back while blocking out.

man they ruining a once beautiful game, i guess they are developing a "no bullying" approach to once contact sport.

Coach fj that may last thru the pre season and early part of the regular season but you go watch
A serra game coached by rapp in January and tell me how much chugging you see off the ball and
In the lane as well as a dela game .They call all that new stuff in the beginning of the season and by
February u wont even remember what the new rules were supposed to be.

Not every game is a blow out. I would imagine it is very hard to find competitive teams in the bay area to play against them. They do play a national schedule with very competitive teams and some of the best players in the country. Check out
thegrindsession.com
Good web site all games are on the net. It looks like the end of January it will pass through Napa.

A couple things to know about Prolific Prep Academy:

It is a basketball academy, and after school program with a focus
on Skill Development, Training, very good coaching, competition,
and a fierce national schedule where they play the best in the country.

All of Prolific Prep kids attend the same school, a private school in Napa.

It is a European style system where school and sports is separated so
the student athlete can focus on both.

They have very good students and kids from 7 different countries.

They wanted to get every kid at the same school and wanted do that by
year 4 but got it done in year 2.

Secondly, the National Prep scene they play 20 minute halves and not 4 8
minute quarters.

Better flow, less stoppage of play.

Also, when you have a deep team with a lot of talent, there is more skill thus
the scoring increases.

Prolific Prep has 3 seniors, one is going to Utah, one is going to Uconn, and
one is the #1 player in the country. They also have a Junior Abu Kigab who
has a Kansas offer and other high major offers.

That is 4 High Major players that can create, make plays, score, and defend
and all are 6'5 to 6'9 with length.

Prolific Prep is a very good defensive team holding Sunrise Christian to 52 points
and this morning holding Word of God's Rawle Alkins, #9 2016 player in the country
who scored 41 the night before to 13 points.

Also, the coaching at Prolific Prep has professional and Division 1 coaching experience.

Billy McKnight has coached professionally overseas as a head coach, is a former
Pac-12 assistant, Jim Halm has over 30 years of HS coaching experience, Philippe
Doherty is a former Div. 1 player Div. 1 assistant coach and tons of experience, and
Jeremy Russotti is probably one of the best skill development coaches in the country,
and with the addition of Graham Betchart, the #1 mental skills coach in the country,
you can't get a much better High School coaching staff than that.

If a player is looking for very good academics and elite coaching, training, and
national level competition, you can't get much better than Prolific Prep which is also
in the Bay Area, one of the best places in the country to live.

Ok, I finally watched the highlight video... What a joke, , anytime you have basketball players from the opposition having numbers of 58, 70, 88, I can't take this seriously. I realize they will play better competition, but don't sale me generic and try to pass it off as the real McCoy.

Reactions: EHS HOOPS
Prolific Prep sometimes plays a couple Post Grad Teams from LA
and those teams are 5th year seniors. About 4 games a year so
fans can come watch them play.

The majority of the games are played in The Grind Session:

www.thegrindsession.com

Where the Top 50 HS teams play each other twice a month. Other
events include Flyin to the Hoop, Hoop Hall, and some of the major
HS events across the country.

About 4 times a year, Prolific Prep Academy plays post grad teams at
home in Napa so their local fans can watch them

Prolific Prep beat 2 Top 25 HS teams this past weekend.

Word of God (NC)
Sunsrise Christian (KS)

Prolific Prep also beat Top 40 Victory Prep HS out of Houston
last weekend.

You should come out and watch on the weekend of January 29-31
when Prolific Prep hosts 4 of the Top 40 HS teams in the country
in an event called: The Crush in the Valley

Plenty of talent will be in Napa for those 3 days. Potentially 6 future
NBA lottery picks.

That was pretty funny.
