Richard Midgley steps down at Modesto Christian

The timing of these 2 openings makes for an interesting few weeks. Which is the better job overall? DLS or MC ?

I see where MC is hiring Midgley's asst. Where did Midgley ranked as far as Cali coaches go? 1 of the best, very good, good etc...??? Just wondering. Haven't seen his team play although now I'll try to find a few games online.

First, Midgley played on what I would consider one of the best teams I've ever seen come out of Norcal. I'm getting old but I want to say they lost in D1 State Finals. Midgley went to Cal, Chuck Hayes, UK and NBA, and Paris went to Cal as well. That team was unreal and in case you didn't see Midgley play think of one of the better guards to come out of this area. 6"2 PG/SG.

Both DLS and MC roster are down. Good year to step down if any. DLS will be better than MC though.

Waking up in Stockton /Valley or Concord /East Bay is that even a question? Would you rather call a 1 your wife or a 10?

Ha ha... Location, location, location. Speaking of MC anybody here where Robinson Indenyo (Sp) ended up at? I liked his game and he really seemed to improve each year. Just curious.

While I generally agree that Concord is a nicer place than Modesto, it's certainly not a 10 over a 1. More like a 6 over a 4.

Concord's only clear advantage over Modesto is the fact it's closer to *other* cities I like to visit. And it's further from Stockton. :)

Even 40+ years ago, I drove to some other city to do what I really liked... Good food, music, pro and college sports, shows of just about any kind, all *not* in Concord, but most at least somewhat close by.

Then again, just about the only advantage Modesto has over Concord is real-estate pricing. a $200k house in Modesto would be more like $350k here. Maybe more... The smallish house I grew up in (3 bedrooms, one bath, 1000 square feet, somewhat larger-than-average back yard in a decent-but-not-all-that-terrific neighborhood) sold for $422k last year.
