Here is the bracket for the 2015 Roy Ghiggeri Invitational at Freedom HS:

Dec. 18:
5:30- Folsom vs. Marin Catholic
7:00- Edison vs. Freedom

Dec. 19:
4:30- 3rd Place Game
6:00- Championship Game

This kid calcaterra is the truth. Has at least 30 of his teams 40 points.

3 point game right before half turns into a 20 point Folsom win. Think the junior from mc had about 40

4:30 PM- Edison vs. Marin Catholic (3rd Place Game)
6:00 PM- Folsom vs. Freedom (Championship Game)

Calcaterra was amazing... I looked over the scorekeeper's shoulder after the game, and I *think* I saw 29 points for him.

yea i heard it was 27. he's a machine

He did one move tonight where he caught a pass directly under the basket, with defenders right on him... Terrible angle to score from... He managed to make one dribble while backing up, slip away from the defenders somehow while staying totally under control, then lay it up easily.

The ease of the actual shot covered up just how difficult that was. Great stuff!

Freedom v Folsom should be a good game in final tonight. Wirth the trip for those in east bay.

I'll be there...

Just for fun, I'll predict: Marin Catholic 76, Edison 48 and Folsom 85, Freedom 68 in what should be a closer and more entertaining game than that score might indicate.

Freedom over Folsom in triple overtime. horrible refs and both teams made lots of mistakes. Freedom is tough and played with heart and are a good team but Folsom played horrible.

I thought it was a terrific game... I do agree that the refs were totally out-to-lunch, though...

So maybe Freedom is the "destiny team" of 2016? Maybe they're just really good?

Also worth noting that close-by Heritage is undefeated at 7-0 going into tonight's Dublin Tournament final... Those Heritage-Freedom games will be good ones!

Not to divert from Freedom (excellent win against Folsom), but Granite Bay is undefeated and handed Freedom its only loss. GB gets Sacramento on Monday at the St. Hope event
