Sacramento football is on hold

The article is restricted. Can you cut and paste it?

To sum up the article: Everyone is very frustrated and trying to be hopeful that they can play. No one said anything stupid.

The coaches that were quoted were Taylor from Inderkum, Nixon from Sheldon, Montoya from Placer, Horner from Casa Robles, Doherty from Folsom, Cavaliere from Oak Ridge, and Costa from Pleasant Grove.

I believe copy right laws allow me to post a small portion of the article with a link (is that correct Streak One?). Is there a particular coach you would like to hear from?

Yes a portion of the story can be posted.

Thanks. I am taking requests. The first poster who responds will get the coach of their choice posted.

@PortCityCoach, here you go...

In Orangevale, Casa Roble coach Chris Horner conducts workouts without equipment.

He has 14 players per pod with no overlap of players or coaches into other pods. This is the norm for most everyone.

”I feel we’ve done a pretty good job thinking outside the box with how to install an offense and defense right now with the restrictions and guidelines that we need to follow,” Horner said. “As a coach, I’m concerned about the weight lifting we are unable to do.”

He added, “We just need to get back to some sense of normalcy. Kids are making the best of the situation and hope that there will be an end to it. Just make it to January when school’s back in session. Just two more months! Educationally, emotionally, mentally and physically, the kids are suffering right now.”

As someone that attended the school, I always find it humorous when someone adds the (s) to our name. Nothing personal against you, MT, cause a ton of people do it. Just never understood why it so frequently happens. No one ever says “De La Salles” or “Del Campos” or “El Caminos”. Lol.
I feel your pain! It bugs me to no end when someone says Monterey "TrailS." I will duly note the correct spelling and pronunciation. Thank you.

Hey MT, my son is really good friends with Trey Nahhas, former running back from Monterey Trail. They were also roommates for a couple years. You have some good memories of Trey at MT? I hear he was a total stud there. I spent some quality time with his dad Kevin in the stands at Cal Poly. Dad and son are both great guys!

Trey is a terrific person. He was a beast on the field and in the classroom. Straight A student and one of THE legendary players from Monterey Trail. Off the top of my head, I think he is the all-time leading rusher in school history, just beating out Drake Tofi by a few dozen yards.

Both of my kids are at Cal Poly SLO right now. Great school. I was very excited to see Trey play when my son was a freshman there back in 2017, but Nahhas was still rehabbing his knee and wasn't on the field. It's too bad those injuries kept him from getting more playing time.

besides knee injuries Trey had the misfortune of playing behind two or three time all American Joe Protheroe at fullback. Trey had an injury free senior year and he deserved every minute he spent on the field.

I didn’t know MT suffered from the added ‘S’. Never seen anyone do that. But I surely believe you.

It happens, especially when people are talking rather than writing. It didn't help that the original street sign on the drive into campus was spelled with an "S."
