Schea Cotton docu

He was a stud. Hook Mitchell-esque. A youth legend who never made it to the NBA.

Ankleassassin... What high school did you play for? And was that when Cotton "victimized" you?

Anyway... I do remember him... One time, he was on St. John Bosco's team when they came up to the VonToure tournament at DLS. I don't remember which year that was, tho...

Definitely a specimen... Looked like he could play college linebacker, and could jump right out of the gym!

Didn't appear to be a very good shooter, as I remember... But of course this was just three games that I saw him. Also didn't handle the ball in traffic all that well and turned it over too much. But with the bod that guy had, you had to think he had some *serious* potential if he could shore up the weaknesses, at least somewhat...

I saw him play against Marbury when Marbury was a senior in The Above The Rim Tournament in SD. Cotton was playing for Mater Dei so I think he was sophomore. They were named Co-MVP's. Mater Dei lost and one of the Mater Dei players dropped the second place trophy in the garbage as they were leaving the gym (Torrey Pines) Fun watching those two on the same court.

I watched him do a 180 degree dunk when he was in 8th grade. His brother James was a great player as well who had a real nice career at LB State. The Schea story is actually kind of sad

I think he "allegedly" played at Crenshaw. Or at least that's what I remember..it was for a legendary coach. Willie or Aziz...I can't remember...lol

Good to see these documentaries to help preserve the feats of these HS legends..... Doug Harris has produced many great ones on Bay Area HS basketball in recent years... like to see one down the road on MACK's Damon Powell as well as Berkeley's Gene Ransom.
