I believe it is just for "paperwork" purposes. Avila is returning as long as he wants to. I think a lot of schools and districts have to "re-hire" coaches that were not being paid during the sports shutdown. The fact they are looking to bring back coaches is a good sign.
Nice new turf field as well. Got to be one of the coldest places to watch a game though with the breeze from the bay coming in on a cold foggy Friday night. Nice looking field though now.
