Major home court advantage for Urban at Kezar. That's a very difficult place to play, and I'm betting St. Bernard's has never even seen the gym before, much less played in it.

I really don't like such homecourt advantages in section finals ... just doesn't seem fair when they won't draw much and could have played at Albany at 1 or 3.

That does seem unfair. Actually, quite unfair.

Is MM and C-LET playing at St. Marys home court advantage also?

It is in MM's backyard and closer to Concord than it is Brentwood. But Carondelet plays in a small gym at home. While Heritage has a larger gym far more similar to St. Mary's gym than Carondelet's gym is. I'm also sure all the teams will bring about the same supporting cast from a crowd standpoint. The games will be as they typically are decided on the court. Which ever court it is played on.

Best wishes and congratulations to all who made it to the Championship.

I think a home game for MM for sure with the gym being minutes away in a small community that doesn't have much to do on a Saturday afternoon. A home game pretty much for Urban but they don't draw much of a crowd anyway especially in the city on a late Saturday afternoon.

These are some good games I'm hoping they will be streamed!

The reason I say Urban has an advantage is that they have played games at Kezar, and Kezar is a unique gym in Northern California. The sightlines, the lighting, everything is so different than what teams are used to ...

The close-to-home argument is fine, and Urban should have that, but how about playing at SHC, say, or a site that is more neutral in its atmosphere -- and that the top seed hasn't played at before.

cityboy--

all section finals streamed on nfhsnetwork.com. $10 for 1-month. unfortunately, last year they did not carry Norcals. still cheaper than you and a drinking buddy going to see the game. not to mention that recliner...

CCS games are held at SI maybe they should hold them there. Anything in the city still an advantage as I’m sure Urban’s kids have played in all the gyms in the city. Maybe because Urban an NCS school they don’t hold the games at SI. Guess that’s a perk of having a higher seed.

Norcal Open Teams

Well remember back in the day when ALL of D5 would meet in Ukiah at Mendocino College and have 3 straight days of playoff games? What a fun venue to be at and the gyms were PACKED for many of the games.

yup but in Norcal 3 to 4 times a month. And another think have you the benefit of the doubt you would lose by 40 to SMS. BUT 50 IS JUST BAD COACHING.

My grammar is way better then you coaching any day. You being a Coach how do You let a team put a 50 spot on you. Why didn't you try to run the clock out every Possession. You are just horrible but with Almendarez Graduating everyone will see how horrible of a Coach you are !!!!!

The Norcsl committee goes by history and what division your team won in sections. Just look at history of the Open.

Hey, I heard you moved to Arizona. Is that true?

I want to hear some analysis on the Salesian/CN game. They have a few common opponents this year. How do these teams match-up? Does one have an advantage due to their style of play/coaching? Obviously size is a big factor as Angel Jackson is pretty much trouble for everyone.

CN has a shot but their supporting cast has to play well and shoot well

Salesain has height, speed and roughness. If the refs let them play their game they have chance. They have to have a good shooting game. CN is good to but this bring up old time before Salesain moved up to D3. This should be a good game!!!
