West Campus 78
Lathrop 52

SJS D4 final

I know this will be an eyebrow raising comment but.....

In the history of the Norcal OPEN a team that has made it to the state title game
the year before (win or lose) and has come back and WON their section the NEXT year has been placed into the open EVERY SINGLE TIME.

Does WEST CAMPUS go to the OPEN????

******as the section finals come in.....are the winners in or out???

West Campus to D1

Pleasant Valley looks D1 to me ... but Northern Section commissioner will battle for D3, I'm guessing.

OPEN starting to take shape....

Mitty
PW
CLET

are going to be in....

Any "sleeper" chance at Bear Creek getting in is over. (it was longshot)

and i still think West Campus is a possibility for the OPEN...

Antelope, Bear creek, Pleasant Valley and Heritage all look like D1 to me.

West Campus won't get in the Open, headed to D- I think, although their 7 losses are all to pretty tough teams.

Watched PV-Enterprise tonight and PV was in control throughout. Had 9-0, 8-0 and 7-0 runs in the first half and controlled the inside with Tuitele.

PV looks like it should be a D1 team, but a low seed and a likely early exit

Well the 8 OPEN teams look pretty set to me....

in order of my predicted seeding....assuming head to head(H2H) carries weight

1. MITTY (H2H over SMS)
2. SMS (H2H over Folsom)
3. FOLSOM (H2H over Salesian)
4. SALESIAN (H2H over Pinewood)
5. PINEWOOD
6. St. JOES (H2H over CLET)
7. CLET
8. BOD

D1

1. MM
2..CN
3. Presentation
4. Heritage
5. Antelope
6. ESP
7. Castro valley
8. Bear creek
9. Pleasant Valley
10. Whitney
11. Consumnes Oaks
12. West Campus
13. Edison
14. McClatchy
15. San Ramon Valley
16. Christian Brothers

SJS 8 teams
NCS 5
CCS 2
NORTH 1

The SJS teams all played each other and took turns beating each other....so it was tough to place them....Ultimately I gave the benefit of the doubt to the section winner Antelope.

so thats what I got!!!

I think the Division I bracket is what competitive equity was supposed to be about -- even if it's different, it won't change this fact: Every game will be competitive, and to win the state title, a team will have to win five straight challenging games. In the past, the first round games were generally blowouts, and sometimes the second round, but no more ...

And the same presumably will apply in every division. Some will say that "Oh, it's not really a state championship," but those teams that run this gantlet will know just what they've accomplished.
