Serra @ Pittsburg: Friday Aug. 27 2021 7:00PM Limited Attendance

Setting my DVR for it.

Maealiuaki Smith vs Jaden Rashada, correct?

Actually I heard Maealiuaki Smith will be the Serra starting QB against Pit. Must have been some sort of backroom deal when Serra recruited him.

Does the other QB Lampkin have covid or did they bench him to start Smith? I hear the connection is between Smith and the Serra OC. I got all of this from a guy in who went to school in SF with the Serra O.C.

I have a Hard Time Believing that The Serra HC would Ditch a Kid that has basically started since his Sophomore year and played very well for a Transfer….

My Guess is Lampkin is in the Protocol if he is not the starter….

This is a Real Bummer!!!…. This is one of the top games of the year in Nor Cal and one at the top of my personal list to see….

Hopefully it doesn’t get worse and more players are out….
This is what happens when coach is an antivaxxer and players dont get the vaccine. Vaccinated players dont have to sit out

Many of Serra's skilled players will be available tonight including Lampkin. Line play is going to be hurting. I heard the transfer QB needs to sit out 5 games because he hasn't officially moved yet. Not sure if that is entirely true but that is what I am hearing. I am expecting a lot of points to be put up. Due to lack of Line play I will go with Pitt 49-35

The writer is indeed provocative and, perhaps, incendiary. But the point has been made. We will say it again: If you want to guarantee your football team's ability to compete during this pandemic, vaccinations are your key. If you choose not to have your coaches and players receive the protective jab, then the consequences will fall on you, your school and, perhaps, on your scheduled foes.

This is the time of day where cancellations/postponements came pouring in.
Folsom-Jesuit is in doubt too

Not sure why this is the coach’s fault. He can’t drag these kids to a vax site. If any kids are unvaxxed, that is the fault of their parents.

Worst air quality of the summer today by far at least in Orinda area - east of Berkeley hills. Very smoky all day today.

If Walsh doesnt want to deal with the rules, he should go and coach at some Texas or Florida school. They dont seem to care over there and pretend the pandemic either doesnt exist or is not a big deal.

I honestly dont get the vaccination dodging answer not just by him, but also pro athletes in general. Is it embarrassing? Is it shameful? Is it just supposed to be a personal secret? Really I just dont understand. If he is (i don't think he is), it would set an example for his players who aren't vaxxed yet to get it. Coaches are role models and would be a positive factor in decisions a child makes.

Well said iamgearyblvd. Coaches are the biggest role models that HS athletes listen to and follow. Not to say whether he's vaccinated or not is shameful and cowardly.
