I guess no one is at the game as no posts at all about it. Off twitter the Lancers were up 15-10 at the end ofthe first and 31-26 at the 1/2 so the Gators are certainly giving the Lancers a game. despite the lack of size. Serra took down Mitty in O/T in which had to be a good game, but had a feeling Serra would take this one after owning HMB who was severly over-rated & it showed [size or no size - sorry HMB, but wasn't even close even with height advantage].

Hmm, not much interest in game apparently as BB certainly not like FB in tems of posts. Anyway for those interested SF squeaked by SHP who stayed closed throughout & proved they belonged in the CCS Open Playoffs. BTW - where is that new poster who predicted SF would roll the Gators?? SHP was solid despite the height disparity. Serra over Mitty in O/T so Serra vs SF for Open Title in which SF will again be the Fav. Gotta say still impressed with SHP for size of their school & size of their squad - reminds me of Valley Christian in FB about 7-8 years ago when they were the smallest school in WCAL & were unbeatable. Props to SHP!

Two great games today! Mitty got a good look on a baseline short jumper that didnt fall as time expired to put into OT. From then on it was back and forth with Serra throwing the last punch. Very physical and fun game to watch.

Now to the SHP St. Francis game. I have to give SHP props the way they battled, but they didnt shoot the ball well at all. Believe it or not SHP bigs outplayed the Lancers bigs. This came down to shooting and Stapes was hot from 3 point land. I think he hit 5 or 6 of them. SHP with just a guess from watching was about 5 for 27 from three and still was in the game till the finish! If they had just an ok day shooting the three they win this game by 10. #33 was an absolute beast on the boards for SHP and had to have at least 20 boards and probably more. Second chance shots after second chance and even third chance shots wouldnt falll. I am a believer now and mark my words, they will do very well in Nor Cals!

Mitty losing will put them in D2 for norcals and they will be a team no one wants to play as Serra and St Francis will be in the open NorCals.

They will do very well in NorCals indeed. I think they will win NorCal and go to state. SHP is a very very good team and not overrated one bit. They their worst shooting game of the year and only lost by 5. #33 played out of his mind and even though he gave up 5"-6" to St. Francis' big he is strong and pushed him around and got every rebound. He was the best big man out there tonight and showed it. #3 was an absolute beast 28 points and he had 4 could towards the end of the 3rd quarter. If he hadn't had foul trouble SHP would have probably won this game. Hats off to St. Francis they played great and got the W, but amazing effort by SHP who is going to make a very deep run in state.

I think/know CCS will get one team in NorCal Open...This is a very down year for CCS..Not hating but its true..Serra and SF are solid but not Elite..Winner goes to Open and loser goes to D2s... D2 you will have to deal with Sac high and perhaps EC.

I think if Serra beats St Francis they both get in considering SF was the WCAL champion.i wouldnt say they were elite either, but if they get hot shooting the ball they could win a game or two in the open. The same goes with Serra. Serra is well coached and wont back down from any team in the norcal open. Mitty beat EC early on this year and lost to Serra 3 times this year btw.

While it does seem a bit of a down year for CCS I think the naysayers from the east bay are really underestimating St. Francis & Serra. Mitty is the 3rd place finisher and did well against outside competition [other than CCS]. Serra lost beginning of season to DLS who later went on to lose twice to MV. I think except for a few teams the top CCS teams will show well against the other NorCal "powers".
