Irish pride...great win...Come SHC boys...you got great role models right across the halls at your school!!!
Scott, if you watched, you saw a dominant player in Thomas just take over. The most important part of that formula is her teammates and coach know in order to win you must go through her. She did it on the boards also, all season long. Trying to get the boys do that is just not within the personalities of the team. Everyone knows Hollins is your guy. But you have other guys on the team that want to get theirs and that leads to no continuity, no cohesion.
No disagreement just saying the boys could learn a thing or two from the girls' teams. The boys' are going to have to support Hollins like this next year if they expect to be on top of the WCAL. From a team with no seniors to a team with all seniors. It is also the last year they are at the school, now or never.
Even with much of the same girls team returning next year, I do not expect them to repeat as State champions as they will assuredly be placed in Open Division and that is the the gauntlet they avoided this year. I stated earlier in Nor Cals how fortunate the girls team were placed in D3 because all the teams in No Cal that could beat them were all in Open Division leaving no team in D3 that could stand in there way to a State title. You can argue SHC lucked out in the final facing a 10th seeded Lakeside from So Cal.
No complaints here. SHC can only play whos in front of them and happy to see another State trophy and the Student Center.
Great job by LaRyan and his girls!!! Class coach and class program. I couldn't be happier for them.
