This was needed for Big C. To be fair, being the head coach was not supposed to be in the cards. There literally were no hands raised that wanted this task. He was brought in to be the Associate AD. He's done an admirable job in that role and accomplished alot for the program. Hopefully he will find someone with a fresh basketball perspective and can attract top players.
Well hopefully as an alum Cesar who I admired as a player can focus on what the school needs. Over and over again the school has had some damn good coaches in the running and in some of the circumstances were flat out dishonest. Nobody, and I mean nobody wants to go into a WCAL coaching job having to climb up hill. The administration needs to lift them to the top, have their back and let the coach fail. But to me it’s a job that at this moment has fail out the gate. I mean your comment hits the nail on the head. “There literally were no hands raised that wanted this task.” Well, coaches speak all the time. So your quote doesn’t shock many. It actually proves how my alum has miserably failed when it comes to basketball.
Put me in charge of SHC and I’ll have them competing for a CCS Open title against Riordan in 2 years or less……..

They had that opportunity with an individual twice over. And one who has an unreal resume. I mean when the jet offense and Winters Patterson drops 82 and averages damn near 40 a game at Balboa high school yet a coach holds that team to less than 60, and they had a monster center who ended up at Hawaii and you even pass that guy up, I wish you all the luck in the world.
A very close friend of mine very involved in prep sports had a decently long convo at Kezar for a Bruce Mahoney game said if you and I were the athletic directors just imagine. I said we would do fairly well. SH my alum no longer cares about winning. Hell they can’t even get students to attend games and that’s been happening for years. It’s a broken record my man.
And you know think about this. When you pass up coaches with massive resumes they all tend to talk. You think anyone of any type of winning success wants to interview there. Why would they?
I must admit this is very funny. Phil was a hell of a guard, watched him go hard against Jerrod Hasse and Kansas at San Jose arena. But I tend to think he is just a tad better off in Napa
Prolific is re-locating to Miami next season as they have been purchased by a wealthy businessman. Don’t think Philippe will be re-locating.
