Forgive the ignorance..is Vandemade a new coach? Hired recently? How long has he been at SI?
And forgive my ignorance as well but is Riordan one of the worse coached teams in Norcal? How do they constantly perform subpar with a stable full of D1 players? There best win is 1 pt nail biter to a way down Mack team. Crusader fans I want to know...
SI is Coach Vandermade's first head coaching gig and this is his 2nd year. Not bad for a first time HC at this level of high school football. He had only been an assistant at the collegiate level.
Forgive my ignorance but how did that team with a 5 star QB and stable of D1 players playing their 2nd game do against Serra (playing their first) at home? Amazingly, Riordan overall is a young team. Lots of football to be played including possible rematches in CCS. I'll reserve judgement after the season.

Folsoms issue is the same it’s always been, they struggle terribly with teams that are physical and punch them in the mouth…. Folsom then wilts, gets frustrated and makes mistakes…..
They are 2 and 10 against DLS and Serra and neither win was a Folsom style blow out while DLS has Boat-raced Folsom several times and even handed them thier only Shut out loss in a million years…..
The loss to Serra this year is such a head Scratcher…. That game should not have been close, I would have bet my house on Folsom beating Serra by 3 TD’s….. Good thing I don’t gamble…. 🤣

Heck yeah he has. I want to know what kind of halftime speeches is he giving because SI has been a 2nd half team in their last 3 wins coming from behind each time.
I'm an SI alum and am very impressed with Coach Vandermade's handling of the program. However let's not forget the cupboard wasn't exactly bare when Coach Regalia stepped aside. He inherited a very good group of seniors and juniors and guided them to a fine season last year and even better season this year. A coach is only as good as the talent he has to work with. Last year' SI's freshman team finished 1-8 and this year's team is 1-4. I will be more impressed if he can keep it going in the next couple of years.
