Now pushed back to 3:30 p.m., one division at a time, after commentary on each division, on the NFHS Network. May start with D6, and work up to D1.When are the SJS brackets announced?
and i don't know who did the coin flip... the league to determine a champ, or the section to determine a champ to seed.watching the bracket show, deboard said that or/folsom came down to a coin flip, which OR won, so they HAD to seed it that way.
I interpreted that as: they are co champs, and the tiebreaker came down to a coin flip.
no idea how true that is, but that's what they said.
Nail hits the head. It’s unbelievable honestly and it’s a joke. Does their commissioner just sandbag his teams or are the CCS and NCS commissioners just massive push overs? How does he manage to get just one team in open every year and send all his heavy hitters to D1. SMS in D1 would be a complete and utter joke. It would defeat the entire purpose of the open imo. I did a little research on your claim and it 100 % has traction.so now that its been confirmed and I've seen the SJS D1 bracket posted on MaxPreps I have a few things to say about it.
Thats the weakest seeding sh** I've ever seen...
Folsom beats OR TWICE and ends up the 2 seed after OR beats them once???...in a total GREAT spot for OR to catch Folsom napping! Weak sauce!!!!
And now the best commissioner in NorCal gets to do his magic... by seeding OR the 1 seed he GUARANTEES either SMS or Folsom ends up in the D1 norcals instead of the OPEN.
The SJS commish does it every year he manipulates the seeding so his teams get underseeded. On the opposite side is the NCS who somehow find a way to put 3 and even 4 into the state OPEN.
Once again the SJS will send 1 to the state OPEN this year...just watch...and the task to fill out the bracket will fall to the NCS and CCS.
Frign weak!!!
You have to remember that the SJS has no Open division. Only four to five D1 teams will advance to the NorCals. That's because the SJS sends to the NorCals, 4 D1 teams, 4 D2 teams, 4 D3 teams, 4 D4 teams, 4 D5 teams, 2 D6 teams, and 1 "at large" team based on highest MaxPreps ranking that gets beaten in round 2 (quarterfinal round). So you end up getting all these small school teams in the lower divisions qualifying for the NorCals from the SJS who may get eliminated early in the NorCals. In the NCS and CCS, all Open division teams automatically advance to the NorCals. In the SJS, there will be a few very good solid D1 teams that will NOT advance to the NorCals, such as the 4th, 5th, 6th, and/or 7th seeds in D1. Those are McClatchy (17-5), Lincoln-Stockton (19-8), Edison (18-4), and Cosumnes Oaks (19-7). If there was an SJS Open division, a couple of those teams would automatically qualify for the NorCals. So under the SJS format, good, strong D1 teams have a tougher time advancing to the NorCal playoffs, which weakens the SJS representation in the NorCals.OK....

I would agree. What hurts any section that sends multiple teams is the simple fact those teams (not ranked 1 or 2) end up with bottom seeds and fodder for the top seeds. If SMS loses in the semis it would really disrupt the open.OK....

In 2019 they put SMS as a 3 seed and Bear creek and McClatchy @ 1 and two. SMS won by double digits in the championship. Sends his title winner and guarantees the loser stays out of open by sandbagging the seeds. History repeats itself again this year. So it is a win win for saint Mary's they either win section or go down to D1 Norcal because they are a "3 seed" in their own sectionall I know is this...
that is Folsom and SMS has been the 1 and 2 seeds and met in the D1 finals BOTH would have gone to the OPEN.
So if OR does make it to the finals..win or lose Oak better be put into the OPEN.
As the 1 seed if they make the finals they should go..win or lose.
